What is it with these companies (here's lookin' at you, Capcom) and passing off their franchises to other developers and letting them ruin them? Metroid's supposdly been shelved because of Other M and Capcom's passed of Dead Rising (actually good), Resident Evil (to be seen) and Devil May Cry (ruined).This gave me the idea to make in image here Samus in comforting Dante since she's been through the same thing he has.

Other M was a good game...gameplay-wise...with a few issues *coughcontrolscough...the story on the other hand...no comment.
DmC just plain tanked all around.

I actually like DmC's gameplay, though it doesn't hold up to classic DMC. Plus, it's not canon at least. And Capcom's next move was re-realsing DMC4 and allegedly starting up on DMC5. Nintendo's follow-up move was just baffling. Mad how Capcom's reparations are better then Nintendo's.

The unfortunate thing is that one day Samus Aran will come back and stronger as ever since Nintendo will not let her series die. I wish I could say the same for Crapcom. When Nintendo makes a terrible game,they learn from their mistakes and make their next title absolutely fantastic.
Crapcom takes the easy way out and gives up.
At least with Metorid Other M it is just a terrible game in the series and NOT a freaking reboot.

Not true at all. DMC2 was even worse than DmC, and they came back and graced us with DMC3.

DMC2 had the excuse of coming out in 2003 before the hack and slash genre really took off hence there was no universal standards as to what was good and what was crap. Think of it as with the case with both Super Mario Bros 2 and Zelda II The Adventures Of Link. Both titles universally panned back then and now.
Also a few of the features that are now prominent in DMC3 and DMC4 such as Bloody Palace and on the fly weapon change came from that title. DmC on the other hand came out two years ago and contributed nothing to the series except downgrading everything.
So again DMC2 is NOT worse than DmC as there are plenty of things it did got right but not executed properly.

I didn't think Metroid other M was that bad. Yes they portray Samus poorly but I like it's boss battles. Like heck they took fishing to a whole knew level. 
Fishing a boss out of lava is pretty cool and a unique thing that I really liked. Though I hated the storyline. -.- I don't think Metroid has died yet....Or at least not as bad as the Sonic Franchise did in Sonic 2006 for the xbox.
I haven't paid any attention to devil May cry so I wouldn't care.

Badass icons made into annoying whiny twats who can't fight for shit. Samus' characterization in Other M has killed the Metroid franchise and DmC will bring bring ruin to the Devil May Cry series (unless the next one was made Hideki Kamiya and Platinum Games)
Team Ninja can't make a good story (DOA Dimensions) and Ninja Theory can't make a good game (Heavenly Sword) but yet both teams are so arrogant and egoistical.

I can sit here and name plenty of examples where all it took just one game to destroy a videogame franchise.
As for you pathetically white knighting DmC, three words: Duke Nukem Forever. People knew it was going to suck and then when it got released what happened? IT SUCKED ROYALLY. That's just one example.

Look, I admit I never even touched a DMC game in my life, but even I know that it's absolutely pathetic to complain about a game solely because a character looks different. Thanks. I am a true hardcore gamer from the NES days. I am not one of those casuals whose only exposure to gaming was through COD,Madden, and other embarrassments.

I'm sure Other M is good gameplay-wise (should've had the option to use the classic and gamecube controller though because an analogue would be much when run in three dimensions)
Metroid II can't be that bad.

... Metroid's not shelved, it has never been shelved. If it would for one so and so game, it would have been shelved long time ago back when Metroid 2 or Metroid Prime 2 came out.
And that new DMC hasn't even been released, people are just whining about some nonexistant and inconsequential redesign that will ultimately have no impact on the core gameplay whatsoever.

Both characters are in the same boat of having one particular game that is awful. DmC may not be out yet,but considering how well (and by well I mean how awful) NJ's other two games were (Hevaenly Sword and Enslaved) NJ can't deliver a solid experience.
I have better hopes of Uwe Bowl making a great videogame movie.
