Please note, this comic was originally intended to be 10-15 pages long. The lack of lead up and detailed explanation on this page reflects the fact that the comic was supposed to be a lot shorted and simpler than it ended up being.EDIT: I've had a some people react quite badly to this comic. Some even found it a little distressing that I've taken Twilight's horn away (Wounded veterans have been been mentioned in the comments).
When I first wrote this comic, my vision was that this was an academic exercise set by Celestia to help Twilight to better relate to other ponies, as well as to better understand herself. So I've updated the text to clearly state that this fact.
I've also tidied up the page a little. Still the original vectors, though.
This edit means that some of the following pages might sound a little odd.
Original Description
I know that it doesn't look much, but this is my most ambitious Pony comic to date. I've tried to use as many original components as I can (Inkscape and Photoshop), but you might recognize some old favorites from other (more talented) authors.
This comic was inspired by the episode Winter Wrap-Up, where Twilight tries to get by without using her Magic, but in the end she uses it even though she isn't supposed to.
Princess Celestia sent Twilight to Ponyville in order to get to know other ponies, and to discover life outside of her books and magic, but in most episodes she seems to solve problems using books and magic.
Twilight solved three simple problems with magic, that any Earth Pony could have solved using their hooves. She used her magic instinctively.
Princess Celestia wants her to find a way to do things without using magic, and to see things from other pony's perspectives.
She's not being cruel (and this is supposed to be the "real" Celestia). She's trying to help Twilight to explore the other things that make Twilight Sparkle who she is.
Anything that isn't directly attributed to somebody is either based on an image from the show's advertizing material for the show, or is scratch drawn (Some things are a combination of the two). I didn't use General Zoi's Pony Creator for any of this (yay).
As you can see from the “Cyclops” pony in frame 7, I'm still getting to grips with Inkscape, and Ponies in general.

I live Hicksville, Population 6,000 Rednecks and 1 Brony. If we'd ever met you wouldn't have known it. You'd probably be too winding your windows up, and taking any Rainbow colored stickers off of the windshield, while you scanned the streets for anybody who looked like an extra from a bad TV movie based on a good Stephen King novel (Hint EVERYBODY).
I only know you from your online presence, but you use the same Fursona on a couple of sites so it's it's easy to keep track of you.

I guess that you're content isn't pushing the right buttons for the viewers that you do have, or that the viewers who would be interested in your content haven't found it yet.
Have you tried a colab or cross promotion with somebody who provides similar content to you who has a lot of views?
Or maybe tweaking your content?

I'm by no means an expert, but based on my own personal preferences for video watching I can make a few small suggestions. I reiterate, these are purely my own personal preferences. So they may not be valid for other people.
You seem to have a lot of Let's Play videos, which is clearly a thing on Youtube right now as they are very popular. I would suggest that you change your presentation style. Record your let's play video and your commentary separately. Use your screen recording software to capture the game's sound, but use a separate source to capture your voice. Then take a look at what you said, and redo that audio using a mixture of your adlibs at the time and scripted dialog. Then combine your re-recorded dialog with the game's sound for the final video.
Having live commentary is good for games with lots of action. Like FPS and RTS games where people will express surprise or have funny reactions, but a lot of your games are text based. Recording your commentary separately would let you include much more analysis as you would have time to think about what you are saying. It doesn't matter if you are talking over the sound track as there is text so people can read it.
One of the things that attracts people to particular Let's Play videos is either comic humor or deep incite. People want to laugh, or they want analysis, as well as gameplay. Find which of these is your strongest suit and run with it.
You may also want to cut some scenes for length, as people have short attention spans, and avoid having mor than about 5 second without somebody saying something. You or a character need to be talking for most of the video to keep people's attention.
I would also suggest that you increase the recording quality of your commentary. Increase the bit rate and maybe invest in a better quality microphone. It sounds like you're microphone is struggling a little to pick up your voice so you're turning the volume up which is introducing some distortion into the sound.
When you record your commentary try standing up, being able to open up your chest more would make your voice a little deeper during the deep bits, and a little higher during the high bits. Audiences tend to respond better to commentators with a wider vocal range. Hunching over a keyboard will close your chest and restrict your range. Try to speak clearly and avoid ums and ers, and don't get to close to the microphone as it introduces distortion.

Well, I took a big break in the middle.
I'm managing to get 1 page done per week at the moment, but when I started it was every 2-3 weeks, so I've picked up the pace a bit.

I came around a random page of your comic and it looked very interesting. However when seeing the 1st page I must agree with the distressed people who complain about the horn thing. For one this is some major trolling by Celestia which borders on downright betrayal which I dont think she would do. Twilight's special talent is magic. For her horn to be taken away is the same as taking away the eyes of an artist or the ears of a musician or the hands of a sculptor (or the hands of any human really). Especially this over relaxed attitude Celestia has. She doesn´t bother to inform Twilight up front ruining any plans she might have, doesn´t give her time to prepare doesn´t discuss and explain her reasons. Just REMOTLY taking one of Twilight's most important parts of her very being away. From a teachers perspective that one action is wrong on so many levels.. You should have build up to that point a bit more and not rush it into 1 page.

I'm a little concerned about some of the words that are being thrown around in the comments. One of the big issues that I've been having are people reacting to this as if a real life teacher had taken an axe to a real life student, and had permanently mutilated them out of some psychotic delusion that it would help their studies.
Is it really appropriate for somebody to be "distressed" over what is in effect a badly drawn fan comic based on a cartoon for 8 year old girls, where a Unicorn loses its magic\horn for a couple of days?
You're talking about blinding people, or mutilating them. Other people have used far more extreme wording. I've had people talking as if I this was a some kind of graphic Cupcakes meets Human Centipede gore comic.
Celetsia is essentially using the same spell on Twilight that Discord used in the Season 2 two part episode. My story is basically just Winter Wrapup where Twilight can't use her magic, rather than her trying not to use it.
Worse things have been done in the actual canon comic. There is one issue where Rainbow Dash is drugged and has her wings wings off with magic. Their intent is that she will never get them back. Here, Twilight knows that she will get her horn back. She's shocked rather that scared.
Yes, there is no lead up. The reason for that is that the comic was only going to be about 10 pages long. It was essentially going to just be Twilight's argument with Applejack, and then one page for each of the Mane characters. Then she realizes what makes her special outside of magic and gets her Cutie Mark and horn back.

Correction, it has been debunked in the Journal of the Pony sisters that Celestia and Luna aren't immortal, but age differently then other ponies.

I don't know, this seems kinda weird to me. It'd be like taking away Rainbow's ability to fly or Rarity's ability to design dresses and saying it's to help them "find out what else makes you special". Sure there are other things that make her unique, but magic is Twilight's special talent, and there's nothing wrong with her relying on it to solve her problems. (Though obviously raw magical talent can't solve every problem. Magic Duel, taught that problem pretty well.) Honestly this feels like something Discord would do, not Celestia.
I also find it a bit hard to believe that Celestia has the ability to remove ponies' horns and cutie marks via letter. Starlight would have loved that ability.
I think the premise isn't actually that bad, but the way it was set up definitely could have been done better. At the very least I think a bit more build-up beforehand and less abruptness in the way Celestia handled things would have helped a lot here.
But whatever, this comic is three years old and I'm sure you've improved lots since you started. Maybe I'll give it a shot...
