Description
Please note, this comic was originally intended to be 10-15 pages long. The lack of lead up and detailed explanation on this page reflects the fact that the comic was supposed to be a lot shorted and simpler than it ended up being.EDIT: I've had a some people react quite badly to this comic. Some even found it a little distressing that I've taken Twilight's horn away (Wounded veterans have been been mentioned in the comments).
When I first wrote this comic, my vision was that this was an academic exercise set by Celestia to help Twilight to better relate to other ponies, as well as to better understand herself. So I've updated the text to clearly state that this fact.
I've also tidied up the page a little. Still the original vectors, though.
This edit means that some of the following pages might sound a little odd.
Original Description
I know that it doesn't look much, but this is my most ambitious Pony comic to date. I've tried to use as many original components as I can (Inkscape and Photoshop), but you might recognize some old favorites from other (more talented) authors.
This comic was inspired by the episode Winter Wrap-Up, where Twilight tries to get by without using her Magic, but in the end she uses it even though she isn't supposed to.
Princess Celestia sent Twilight to Ponyville in order to get to know other ponies, and to discover life outside of her books and magic, but in most episodes she seems to solve problems using books and magic.
Twilight solved three simple problems with magic, that any Earth Pony could have solved using their hooves. She used her magic instinctively.
Princess Celestia wants her to find a way to do things without using magic, and to see things from other pony's perspectives.
She's not being cruel (and this is supposed to be the "real" Celestia). She's trying to help Twilight to explore the other things that make Twilight Sparkle who she is.
Anything that isn't directly attributed to somebody is either based on an image from the show's advertizing material for the show, or is scratch drawn (Some things are a combination of the two). I didn't use General Zoi's Pony Creator for any of this (yay).
As you can see from the “Cyclops” pony in frame 7, I'm still getting to grips with Inkscape, and Ponies in general.

Frame 8: Sorry, I'm being really lazy here. This is from the show itself. I wonder how Celestia is writing that letter without using her magic (no glow?). Frame 9: This one is based on a couple of different images. Including Veggie55's Rainy Days (veggie55.deviantart.com/art/Ra… ) and Library Upper Floors (Twilight's Bedroom) by DairingDashie (daringdashie.deviantart.com/ar… ). I used them both as a base. One for the window and the other for the curtain, along with some tweaks. Also based on the original image from the show. Frame 10 and 11: Same as above. Frame 12: Same as Frame 8. Frame 13 and 14: Same as Frame 9.

Imagine if a young Rarity started buying in pre printed dress making patterns, and used them all of the time.
She might make her dresses faster, but she wouldn't improve as a fashion designer. She'd just be making the same dresses over and over again using different colors of fabrics.
Wouldn't it make sense for her mentor to take away the dress making patterns, and to set her a task that involved making something from scratch?
I basically needed a premise and an execution that I could fit on a single page, without having to draw too many complicated scenes. I'd probably put it across three pages if I were drawing it again.

Dude, she gets the chance to learn what makes her special besides her magic. It does make perfect sense and I think that twilight would have acted upon such differently than she did.
Although Celestia is better than Luna any day, I know that Luna is just a spoiled brat little sister. I would have expected Luna to do the same thing, actually.
Honestly, I don't know why you get so riled up and defensive over such pony nonsense. I don't even like the show because the "fans" have ruined it so much for me. With 'shipping' and trying to make something in the story out of nothing, or hardly anything.

I just have a REALLY big thing against celestia. Sketch refuses to even bow and obey her its so big. (and yes sketch CAN take on celestia and win. it hasn't come to that but its simple math. Sketch can beat Lunar, Lunar defeated chrystalis one on one in the war of equestria, and via show canon we know at that level of magic chrystalis can take celestia out in one blow. honestly she's not as tough as she looks)
as for art I'm a big tf fan if thats what you mean but I'm fin with traditional or digital really.

Interesting idea, but it seems a little bit of a stretch for Celestia to do that to her, but more than a little bit of a stretch without her having to sign something for consent or something

It's actually pretty common in comics and cartoons for a mentor to tell a character to fight without their super powers, or technology.

Maybe, but suddenly taking it away from her without even asking for her consent doesn't really strike me as something Celestia would do...

She sent her to Ponyville without asking, and set her up to Fight Nightmare Moon without asking.
She turned her into a Princess without asking, too.
Celestia isn't a very asky kinda princess.

She asked her if she'd like to attend her "school for gifted unicorns" when she was just a filly.
Assigning her to supervise the Summer Sun Celebration and make friends is considerably less invasive and more benign than robbing her of her cutie mark, what her cutie mark and identity are, and one of her own body parts.
Assigning your student with a task is considerably different from forcibly removing their hands (manipulators that are an integral part of them).

When you get right down to it, Celestia basically planned Twilight's entire life out for her from when she was a foal.
From the day the Celestia made Twilight her personal pupil, every significant event was pretty much part of a master plan to make her a Princess. Twilight didn't even know that it was possible to become an Alicon, so she certainly didn't consent to it in advance.
It might be normal for a teacher to assign a student a task, but a lot of Celestia's tasks all have ulterior motives. When was the last time that one of your professors sent you to organize a summer festival with the full knowledge that you'd end up using arcane magic to fight their super powered megalomaniac sister?
Celestia constantly manipulated Twilight by putting her into dangerous situations, with the ultimate aim that she's become an Alicorn. Pretty much the only exceptions were the fight against Discord (Which Only Twilight could do because she was an element bearer), and Tirek (Which Twilight decided to do). Everything else was a stepping stone along the way.
If you include the Canon from Equestria Girls, and the comics into it, it gets even murkier. Twilight is basically just a replacement for Sunset Shimmer. A sufficiently powerful Unicorn who came along just after Sunset stormed out.
Besides, it's actually quite normal for a teacher to get a student to do something "old school" to make them stronger in one way or another. Like a basketball coach forcing a player to use their off hand for practice matches in order to strengthen their overall skills.

I still don't find that to be quite enough to convince me that Celestia would send a letter that de-horns, and especially de-cutie-marks Twilight without any warning or consent...
Celestia didn't even force Twilight to fight Nightmare Moon for that matter - she merely prepared her for her coming by lining her up to make friends, then Twilight was the one who chose to fight NMM.

I needed a way to de-magic Twilight in a way that Twilight wouldn't question, and which didn't involve a villain doing it.
It also needed to fit on one page, and not involve much drawing. This is what I cam up with.
This was my first attempt at a pony comic over 3 pages long, and I'd never drawn a multi-page comic using manually drawn characters before (Most of my previous comics were drawn using a Pony Generator, or a 3D rendering engine).
I might have drawn it in a different way had I done it today, but that was a long time ago now.

I understand the feeling, certainly. I don't mean to come off as too harsh - it's an interesting idea, and despite being overcrowded with tabs it's a tab I keep open because I'm interested in reading it sometime. I'm just having a lot of personal issues getting/keeping my life in order at the moment, so I don't really have time for doing many things I'd like to do.
I like the idea and execution of it so far. I think it's caught my attention twice, independently, actually, heh - I don't know if I just wasn't aware of more pages earlier, or if they weren't made yet, but after reading two I suddenly remembered that I'd read the first four or so way back when, more than a year ago I think.
But no, overall I say pretty good, decent work, and you know from my conversation so far that I'd be honest if I thought it wasn't - I'm not just saying that to be nice. I'm also interested to see how much better the later pages are based off of what you're saying, here, because these first ones aren't too shabby to begin with.
It's a rare treat to come across a genuinely intruiging, slice-of-life sort of premise that is neither dark nor crazy adventure.

Although I had a beginning, a middle and and end for this comic written a long time ago, there are a lot of slice of life pages at are basically going with whatever my mood was when I wrote them, so there will be some ups and some downs. Some stuff that's just silly for the sake of being silly, and some bits that are quite dark.
If it goes off beat for you for a while, please feel free to come back in a month or two, and skip through any pages that you haven't read, as I may have gotten back on to a track that you prefer in that time.

Who cares? The point of these comics are that they didn't really happen, it's just an idea someone had. They can make the characters as OOC as they want.

They can, but then it's no longer an accurate rendition of a "what if" scenario of the characters aren't responding in-character
Overall this particular point is only kind of minor, but still...

Celestia : Yes.
Me : Care to tell why?
Celestia : I think she needs to learn how to do things without magic.
Me : And did you...ask for her consent before-hoof?

It's no real clever, but I though:
If egyptians worhsipped the god of the sun so much the let its "son"(the pharaon) reign them,
set the rules of the land,
and pretty much do whatever he wanted...well...
...his father might as well be the god of pretty much everything.

Oh, I think I just got what you actually meant by "Goddess of creation".
