Description
Welcome to part two of my Friendship is Magic comic "Without Magic".After hearing that her faithful student is using Magic to solve everyday problems, Princess Celestia has transformed Twilight Sparkle into an Earth Pony.
I've taken on board some of the criticism of the last page (Mostly from readers who raised the whole "Earth Pony" V Hornless Unicorn issue), and I've modified my script a bit for the next couple of pages because of it. Mostly, it's made it longer. So please be patient as I've got more frame to draw that I originally scripted for.
Spike was supposed to be more encouraging, and was supposed to reassure Twilight about what Princess Celestia wanted, but I had to cut the scene in order to get everything ready by the end of the day as it was taking too long to do everything. I may put the scene into another page later on.
Anything that isn't directly attributed to somebody is either based on an image from the showadvertizing material for the show, or is scratch drawn (Some things are a combination of the two). I didn't use General Zoi's Pony Creator for any of this (yay).
The background is Library Upper Floors (Twilight's Bedroom) by DaringDashie (daringdashie.deviantart.com/ar… ).
Twilight Sparkle in Frame 5 and 6 was inspired by Comic - Dragon Trouble by DaringDashie (daringdashie.deviantart.com/ar… ), though it's not a direct copy. Twilight's Expressions were heavily guided by Faces of Twilight Sparkle (Vectors by Kdogfour (kdogfour.deviantart.com/art/Fa… ).
The food on the table was inspired by this video (www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWrc56… ) by ToucanLDM. As I needed something to get me started.

Spike is a combination of Spike is not Amused by tamalesyatole (tamalesyatole.deviantart.com/a… ). I used the legs, body, ears and spines, but redid the face, mouth and arms to suit my scenes better. I also simplified the image a little to fit in better my simplified version of Twilight Sparkle.

Deliciously hilarious. Twilight Sparkle's way to raise Spike has helped giving him the dry wit he is now using against her. Marvellous.

While I do like these new pages, there is something that bothers me. Spike told Twilight that being an earth pony isn't what Celestia wanted from her. So I'm having a hard time figuring out how Twilight's thought process just returned to her original line on thinking. Also, we really need more scenes like this in the comic: Twilight wanting to do research

Twilight has a habit of fixating on certain details and then taking them to extremes, even when other ponies try to put her on the right track.
She looks for a big picture even when there isn't one.
The one thing that she does is listen to Spike when he tells here that Celestia probably would expect her to do her research in person, rather than from books.
Going to see Applejack WAS her doing research. Only it didn't end well.

I just realized something... She isn't an earth pony. She is literally a pony. Earth Ponies still utilize a bit of magic, from which their strength is partially drawn from, along with their ability to produce crops more effectively. So literally what Celestia in fact did to Twilight, was remove not only her horn, but all magic within her, thus turning her into something even less than an Earth pony.

I tend to think of her as still being a Unicorn. She still has all of her magic but she can't focus it without her horn.
Earth Pony is probably just a convenient term. In one of the earlier pages Celestia is surprised when Twilight refers to herself as an Earth Pony. So Celestia still thinks of her as being a unicorn.

Unless Celestia has camera's installed everywhere(ALWAYS WATCHING!!!!) how the hay does she know how Twilight is solving problems? We see Twilight in considerable stress here over losing her horn and her magic, which I can see the relation from the previous pages description relating to veterans, as she lost a piece of herself.
You post that it's the real Celestia, the one from the show, but honestly even if you updated the text (I have no idea whart it said originally so I can't compare) it still comes off as a low blow. I think a LOT of the hate for the story would have been averted if you had simply had Celestia talk Twilight into it instead of just saying "This is how it is, have fun."
For example, during the Crystal Empire bit Celestia posited it as a challenge Twilight had to overcome. If Celestia had goen the same route than Twilight would have been hesitant, yes, as she relies on her magic for even mundane things, but she would have done it willingly to impress Celestia, something she's always been big on, and to advance her friendship studies, another thing she's big on. By forcing Twilight into it with no warning it takes away from show Celestia, who you were trying to convey.
The idea is good, but the intiial execution comes off awkward and out of character. But I'll keep reading and see where it goes from here.

The fact that twilight accepts her fate is, unfortunately, more believable. She really puts Celestia on too much of a pedestal.
