Description
As Alex leads his new friends to his home, Kamala lies inside the den, resting peacefully. She soon wakes up and sees Alex walking inside, and the Queen of the Jungle is pleased to see her son returning home. Getting up from her slumber, Kamala walks to her baby boy. For some time, she felt worried about her son. Ever since the outsiders came, she had been afraid that Alex would be lost in their ways, and never return home. Seeing him inside the place she had raised him when he was a cub, makes her heart feel warm.
However, those thoughts fade away as she suddenly sees Lyndsey walk inside the den. Kamala, frightened, begins to take a few steps back away from Alex and his new friends. Lyndsey soon spots the lioness and calls out to the Professor.
Lyndsey: Look!
Professor: What? Wha—
The Professor and Christopher look inside the den and see Kamala, frozen and in fear.
Christopher: Be careful, Dad. *reaches for his gun*
Lyndsey: *captivated by Kamala’s beauty* …She's beautiful.
Never before had Lyndsey ever seen a full-grown female lion in the wild. And never before had she seen one with such beauty.
Alex: *Smiling at Lyndsey* She's my mother.
Lyndsey: *Shocked* But—this is your—mother…
She couldn’t believe it. This lioness, with such power and beauty, was Alex’s mother. If this lion was his mother, then that meant that Alex’s father must also be a lion—an alpha lion. Lyndsey suddenly realizes that Alex had been raised by the leader of this large herd of animals, as one of their own. She couldn't believe it.
While Alex crouches on all fours, he lets out a few small hisses and roars in order to talk to his mother. But as he spoke, Kamala slowly begins to take a step back.
Everyone was worried as to what was happening.
Professor: What's happening?
Lyndsey: I don't know, Professor.
The explorers watch as Alex communicates with his mother.
Slowly and surely, Kamala begins to step back and walk deeper into the den.
Christopher: *nervously* It's getting away!
Lyndsey: *Grabbing Christopher’s wrist* Christopher, no, you'll only frighten her more!
Seeing as how they came so far, Lyndsey knows she has to do something in order to prevent the lioness from leaving. She soon gets down on all fours and moves beside Alex, before she begins to give several small hisses and roars for comfort. The lioness slowly stops in her tracks and becomes interested.
Professor: Oh yes. Good idea!
Professor Rathbone joins in and does the same as Alex and Lyndsey. Soon enough Kamala’s worries began fading away.
Christopher: *Annoyed* What are you doing? Do you want to frighten them off? Get up, get—
In his impatience, Christopher tries to stop this foolishness, but he suddenly stops mid-sentence, having seen something unexpected.
Christopher: …don't get up!
