Colored the sketch from a few weeks ago. Wanted more practice doing my new way of shading. However, I seem to have a problem of making one ear larger than the other. Oh well. As explained in the sketch, this is Edward enraged with Ariel for going against his wishes and needlessly endangering her life. This is the angriest and most terrifying she's ever seen him. This would be scary enough for a human, let alone a tiny mouse. This would resemble the last thing you'd see before your fiery demise. However, even in his anger, the Scyroar shows restraint. Flames shoot from his mouth as he raises his voice, yet they're small. And, Ariel didn't notice it in the moment due to her cowering and sobbing, but she'd go on to realize as an adult that there was no yellow in those flames. Yellow is hotter than orange, so it showed he held back. He was angry with her that night because he cared about her deeply. Anger towards someone you love holds back; even in the fire, there is gentleness.
