Hey, It's been awhile, but here it is!I have been getting quite a few comments about Gaster being a dick.
I have no idea where this Gaster hate is coming from, but if I can spoil one thing it is that Gaster is a genuine nice guy. In future comics, it might seem like he is brash and unreasonable, but that is because he knows (or thinks) that it will be safest for his children.
Why would Gaster set Sans arm in front of Papyrus with no drugs?
1) He knew with Sans distracted it would be easier to do (If he let sans know there would be a struggling/ screaming match with the possibility of Sans short cutting or injuring himself further).
2) Sure it would hurt, but it would be quicker than trying to get Sans down to the lab where Sans would fully know what was about to happen.
3) Why would Gaster have anaesthetics on him? Or even a syringe?! You think Sans wouldn't have freaked out over a syringe? If Gaster left to get one, do you think Sans would have stayed there waiting? Humans need Drugs because we have skin, muscle, nerves and tendons in the way.
4) Why in front of Papyrus? Papyrus would have heard the screaming anywhere in the house; it wouldn't matter where he was. Also, it not going to "traumatize" Pap, he is smart and decisive and understands why it needed to be done.
5) Why not tell Papyrus to leave? Because it was distracting Sans, Gaster needs a distraction in one way or another, and unfortunately, it was Papyrus. Gaster will feel wrong about it, but he trusts Papyrus enough to know that he will forgive him later.
6) Gaster doesn't get a kick out of seeing pain. Not in my comics and not even in Zarla's Handplates! But he is the royal scientist and is bound to be desensitised from both his line of work AND having lived through the war.
I hope this settles any confusion about the intention of Gaster in my comic.

Also just saying again due to the hate comments. My father reset my wrist when I broke it. I was 11 and afraid he would be mad.
I also hid from him but he knew better. My dad was a steel worker and welder. On the job if he or one of the guys broke something
their crazy ass would reset it if they were able and keep working. I remember my dad coming home from a long day and his shoes
or gloves would be drenched in blood. He would just splint them up and keep working.
I always felt he put his work before his own health and I worried sick. But the day I broke my wrist he fought against my
flailing and once I was distracted waiting for my mom to come back with the car to take me to the hospital. *I thought I was going.*
She came home saw me and freaked out. I kept trying to explain to her and he in just a few seconds snapped it back and wrapped it.
Yeah it hurt but honestly it stopped hurting in a bout 20 minutes.
My mom later that night told me he gave her a wink basically making me stay distracted. It healed up perfectly.
We did not have insurance and hospital trips weren't always a good things since this was 19 years ago. We were
poor as in my dad made only enough to pay for bills. Food was hard to buy. So yeah I totally get this comic my dad
would do anything he needed to do like this in front of mine and my siblings. He also reset my brothers big toe
when I was 4. He also sutured a large gash I had on my foot from falling out of a tree.
Anyway felt like sharing a little story lol. Love the comic and the art so much! Baby bones Sans and Papyrus with
Daddy Gaster makes my heart so warm and fuzzy ^^

I broke my elbow once. Hurt a lot, but the pain went away rather quickly once in the cast.

Yeah my dad and I are close. In 93 he broke his spine and had to have a tri level spine fusion. Here we are now
I am 30 fixing him up and making him go to the hospital when he needs to lol. I can fix some things but if it is
too much for me I make him go. I never got to finish medical school due to family and money issues.
I plan to go back and finish though. I suppose once I do he'll be running from me while I chase him with syringes heh.
My dad wanted to be a diagnostician but life had other plans unfortunately. I always looked up to him and always will
despite his stubbornness. Broken bones aren't as bad as they look honestly. As long as there aren't any small hair line
cracks or slivers of bone then they are pretty easy to reset so long as you have the stomach for handling it and the
injured is okay with it and trusts you. Once reset splint or cast it, it will heal just fine.
However I would never suggest someone with little to no medical knowledge or experience to do this.
If you know anyone that breaks something the best advice is to help calm them down. The bleeding from the break will
stop surprisingly quick once the flailing stops and you get it wrapped up loosely in a cotton wrap. Keep whatever it is elevated if possible
and go to the hospital.
I may have learned alot from being taught and having alot of friends in the medical field plus my job at a museum
called MOSI *Museum of Science and Technology* but I will never pretend I know more than the people who have a
JOB in the field, they finished I did not. We had a house fire which is the main reason for my current situation. Unfortunately
my husband suffered severe lung inhalation damage and I am working on getting him disability and other things so I guess
anytime you choose medical as a profession life is never easy.
Sorry I tend to go off on tangents, I love the comic I love your art expect to see more of me heh.

How sad 😣. Medical school is a killer, especially in Canada for some reason.
Not many people get to go to school for it and not many actually make it to the end either. Knowing the essentials is always great.
I am Assuming you are an American, so health care is probably very expensive. So it's always good to be able to do the little stuff.
As for your current situation, I am sorry to hear about all of that, I hope for the best for you!

Yes I am, unfortunately I am in Florida where things are that much harder.
Growing up poor and as many struggles I have had, this in just another
hurdle to jump. I'm confident things will look up for us. Time is the hardest
thing to heal by no question about that.

Hmm... better that Sans didn't know Papyrus was there. He'd hate Gaster even more if the trust had been shattered while he was distracted with Papyrus being there. As for Papyrus being smarter than we think, I can see that. Desensitized to pain and suffering because of his work as a royal scientist? If Alphys could do those things in the lab for so long and then gush about hating herself for it in a diary, it's only fair to see Gaster doing the same.
Papyrus is everyone's little helper, or he tries to be, even when he surpasses Sans in terms of height.
