Description
The Grey Man is back in action! Now with 80% more rainbows!Sere is pronounced like "sear" or "seer". Not "Seh-ray"
Backstory
Sere is the Personification of color in his world. His role was to roam the world and make little alterations, like an artist adding color to a painting that would never be finished. 500 years ago a mortal friend was taken before her time, and the depression from that event caused him to become grey. Tracking his mortal's reincarnation led him to a world disguised as a fantastic hotel, the patron of said world hosting a tournament that Sere participated in. Unfortunately, he lost, and was sealed in that world when it collapsed. Somehow he was dragged from that world into Godfall, and now he wants out.
The system by which Sere determines a deity's ranking, and from there how he should act around them, is a somewhat complex order determined by immortality and creation abilities. Sere himself is a High Immortal: one who will not stay dead after being killed, has no natural end to their life span, and can create (basic) life in the form of plants. For more information on the ranking system, see [link]
Sere's paintbrush is a part of him, and cannot be taken away or touched by another individual.

Sere's... regained a bit of color. His shirt has a hint of green to it, and his pants a hint of brown... he's already begun to turn mortal, hasn't he?
Those scars look like they were painful.
I love his scarf... 'u' I almost want to make one...

Yep. He's been there for 5 years already, and using his powers makes him turn mortal faster. When he's fully colored, he's completely mortal.
They probably were. He's got a super-nasty scar on his back from a kick from Square as well. He should have a lot more scars, but all the very worst happened when he was still immortal enough to heal fully.
XDD THAT SCARF. I have a running joke with my sister and a friend about how the scarf and Square are the real stars. One day the scarf is going to just take over the whole comic.

Ah! Wow... slow process. Though he's pretty powerful, so it makes sense.
Ouch. Makes sense, though... now he knows how to deal with Square ^^
Haha, someday! >u< That just makes me want to make one all the more...

I see what you did there and i like it.
Also "Square is Sere's rider" - are you sure that it's not the other way round?

Oh wait no that's correct. The beasts you can ride on are called 'riders'. I don't know if that makes the passenger a 'steed' but yeah. It's not a typo.

I thought they are called "mounts" since "steed" applies mostly to horses and "rider" is the one who sits on/rides the "mount" or "steed". Rider ~= jokey ~= horseman, no?

Usually, yes. The animal is the steed or mount and the person on it is the rider. For some reason Click decided to name the animals 'riders', though, which makes things very confusing.
