Description
The Story
Once there was a Witch and an Alchemist. The Witch bothered people with her Familiars, and the Alchemist would destroy them.
One day the Alchemist and his apprentice were summon to destroy yet another Familiar. However, the Alchemist only mortally wounded the Familiar instead of confirming that it was destroyed. Taking pity on it, the apprentice used knowledge stolen from his Master's book of spells to heal the Familiar.
Alive and whole again, the Familiar suggested that it stay with the apprentice for a while, as its magic was stripped away and it was too weak to be dangerous anymore. However, it may not be telling the whole truth...
Dust
- Dust is about 54 inches tall, or about 4 and a half feet. He's somewhere around the age of 10.
- He's somewhat reserved for a child, but he still doesn't have the maturity of an adult. Frustration and confusion will come easily to him.
- It is unknown how he brushes his hair.
- Dust's bag contains the following:
The Book
Apothecarian's box + ingredients
Seeing Stone
Knife
Waterskin
Bottles for spells
Mortar and pestle
Bowl
Crucible + stand
Charcoal sticks
Paper
Sometimes Fable
- The bag is enchanted to be light, durable, and have a somewhat larger capacity than it should. Fable is able to completely climb inside and close the flap.
- Dust is able to read English, Italian, and Latin thanks to his Master's teachings. However, he can only really speak English.
Fable
- Fable is roughly 20 inches tall, and weighs around 10-15 pounds.
- As a Familiar, Fable's body is made of brass and wood. They're about as resilient as one would expect from what is basically a puppet animated by magic, able to shake off most any damage. The exception is any damage to their eye (as it's hard to fight while blinded).
- As their Affinity is fire, the wood that makes up their body is of course fireproof. Their scarf, however, is not.
- Since Fable is animated by magic, they have a slight sixth-sense for detecting it in others. They can mainly sense what Affinity someone else has if an Affinity is present (i.e. being able to tell if someone uses Fire magic), and they are also adept at detecting whether or not someone else is another construct. They have no ability to sense ghosts or other super natural beings. If someone is able to conceal their magic or Affinity, Fable will not be able to detect it.
- Despite being technically younger than Dust, Fable is knowledgeable about many things, though they mostly focus on things related to magic. Not surprising, given who built them.
- While Fable isn't technically weak to other Affinities, their magic is far less effective when faced with anything that falls under the Water Affinity, excepting Ice. Water itself won't harm Fable, however, though a dunking will probably make them mad.
Taradiddle
- Dust and Fable's story is called Taradiddle, meaning 'a small or white lie'. It's not a very long story.
- Taradiddle is set in a magical version of the early 1800's, though it borrows elements from the 1600's all the way up to the early 20th century.
Alchemists? Witches? Familiars?

At first I didn't really take note of their names and thought you were getting really poetic with the age descriptions.

They are gorgeous. I sure hope Blacksmiter doesn't stand on Fable. That would be unfortunate for both of them, I'm sure.
