edit the gtk.css and go to the menu section.
set the value for border-radius.

I must say,you all did a wonderfull job, there are a lot of themes to choose from in such a short time.
I love it!

Yeah, I thought "oh no, gnome3 is coming and all my fav themes will be no longer available, who's gonna make them? How long will it take?"
Then I thought "Hey! I will!"

Btw, half-left did a great job with all his gnome-shell themes, waaay more than us all with the gtk3-themes...

hey this is an awesome theme.. but im having a problem..

I dont have the same application title bar.. mine looks basically like the original gnome-shell theme... how do you change the window border.. is it metacity that draws the window borders and title bar ? how do I change the metacity theme ?

thanks

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDeviantMars In reply to insaini [2011-05-05 12:48:30 +0000 UTC]

Thank you!
the window border theme is included, but you have to tweak with gconf-editor to make gnome3 use it, otherwise it will stuck on default (sic.)

it's somewhere in desktop > shell > mutter

you find complete instructions on webupd8.org [link]

What icons did you use? Or Icons package?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDeviantMars In reply to NazgulTuga [2011-05-05 12:49:41 +0000 UTC]

Faenza.

Like the most famous and used gnu/linux icon theme at the moment, man!

Do you live under a rock?

arabdelight In reply to ??? [2011-05-05 01:44:07 +0000 UTC]

Good job on the theme! I have a question for you, I noticed youre using the faenza icon theme but you were able to have the top right tray icons remain the stock theme. How did you do that if you dont mind me asking? Mine change to the faenza theme and become really small and goofy looking =/

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheDeviantMars In reply to arabdelight [2011-05-05 12:52:46 +0000 UTC]

You mean on the panel?
I don't know, it is always been like this to me,
they are symbolic icons, they should not change with the icon theme!

Btw i run Archlinux, and my Faenza icon theme is not the latest version
(maybe you have a newer one which replace those on the panel)

but, again, the panel icons are DESIGNED not to be replaced, whatever icon theme you use...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

arabdelight In reply to TheDeviantMars [2011-05-05 14:58:37 +0000 UTC]

Thats interesting. Im also on archlinux and installed the latest faenza from the AUR and it replaced a few of the top panel icons (battery, volume, and status icon next to name). I wasn't aware they were designed not to be interfered with. Ill try downgrading the icon theme. Thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it!

How do you get the dock on the left side? I looked through the extension.js but did not see anything.

Look better!

this.actor.set_position(0, (primary.height-height)/2);
(line 123)
and also this line
PopupMenu.PopupMenu.prototype._init.call(this, source.actor, St.Align.MIDDLE, St.Side.LEFT, 0);
(line 375) for the popup-menu to appear on the right side

Does anyone know how to tell GNOME 3 to use the equinox engine to properly display the GTK2 components?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

TheDeviantMars In reply to folkg [2011-05-05 12:56:15 +0000 UTC]

have you installed murrine and equinox gtk2-engines?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AnaerShadowYnomaly In reply to TheDeviantMars [2011-05-14 18:25:17 +0000 UTC]

Hmm I had this problem too, cos I didn't realise it used both engines. But I've just installed them, and it still doesn't display properly :/ I've set it in gconf-editor to use Atolm-gtk3 (like it's called in the index.theme), but I don't know what else to try

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

folkg In reply to folkg [2011-05-04 22:30:02 +0000 UTC]

Solved, I didn't realise at first that Atolm relied on both equinox AND murrine.

So, note to anyone else. Install gtk-engine-equinox and gtk-engine-murrine so that all gtk2 apps (most) will look proper.

Great theme by the way. Loving the look of my desktop now with the GTK 3 and GNOME shell theme by half-left. I've always been more of a dark kind of guy!

You could use the metacity Aolm theme in the screenshot mate, and not let the GS menu obscure it.

do you know how to have rgba transparency?
i mean, gtk2 had it, gnome-shell css has it...

i tried to put rbga colors in the gtk.css, it takes the color but not the percentage of transparency

half-left In reply to TheDeviantMars [2011-05-04 15:24:50 +0000 UTC]

I think you have to enable it in the GTK3 code, I'm really not sure and yes I've tried that too.
