Do yours scape goat like they do here? Pick one coot who is the "bad" one to be picked on. They are an interesting little bird I like them a lot. Nice action shot!

That certainly sounds familiar behaviour to what our Coots get up to LOL. well one thing our Coots do when they fight is have a referee. Im not kidding. I've watched and photographed quite a few fights and its fascinating to see from start to finish. 2 fight and one observes and sometimes steps in, i have a few 30 shot sequences of Coot fights and the role he or she is playing in it becomes very clear. Avery interesting bird indeed

I have never seen that - what a cool thing. Ours all seem to have a scape goat (ducks, geese, coots) not swans because they are territorial.
