Fantastic, what a great shot! I love Wood Pigeons, they're so polite and refined. When they're courting the gentlemen bow so deeply to their ladies. Once a lady accepts his advances there is a lot of beak to beak kissing involved before the, erm... act. Then a quick ruffle of the feathers and they snuggle up side by side.

Many thanks yes wood pigeons are wonderfull birds and i have seen many of the behavioual moments you describe. And they
do come across as very gentlemen like, the walk and straight posture, and pushing there chests out so proudly. hopefully
soon i might get some of the intimate moments too.

Yes so true!!!!!! I don't have any prejudice towards bird species, they all have their role and reason and i respect that. I
enjoy photographing them all regardless of how common or rare they are.

I really love this one...the dynamic pose, the soft tones and the way the light plays over the feathers, making them seem to glow from within...

Thankyou i nearly backflipped down the bank when i saw what i had captured LOL. i tried to line him up as straight as i could
in a perfect line to the sun to give him equal light right across him.
