Work: Secondary express services on Tidmouth-Barrow mainline

Bio: Gordon and his siblings were built by Crovan's Gate in 1922 for top-link express trains on the Tidmouth-Barrow mainline. When Gordon was trialed on the mainline he reached a record breaking speed of 105 mph. This feat made Gordon a very famous engine, some would say the most famous engine on Sodor. The praise and attention made Gordon very pompous and proud, the once young and eager engine was turned stuck-up and self important. Gordon would pull heavy expresses from Vicarstown to Tidmouth for two years before being transferred to Tidmouth and then pulled trains from their to Barrow. Gordon has had many adventures following his move to Tidmouth and the already famous engine became world famous. He was on top of the world, that was until 1997. He had to keep up with Network Rail's timetable for the exchange at Barrow. Gordon tried his best but just couldn't do it. So, The Fat Controller purchased Pip & Emma for the Wildnor'wester and Gordon was demoted to secondary express services. Gordon was a little sad at first but soon began to like the change of pace. In 2011, after Wilbert Awdry's centenary he given the honor of pulling a new train named "The Reverend W. Awdry" after the man itself. Gordon pulls the train from Tidmouth to Vicarstown with a special stop at Wellsworth. The train is very popular and can often times be quite heavy, but Gordon doesn't mind, he's happy to help the legacy of Wilbert Awdry live on for years to come.

Personality: Gordon is described as a pompous, arrogant, and self-important engine. When Gordon was young he was the fastest engine on Sodor. This made him a very boastful and puffed up engine. He thought no engine was important as he was. He always wanted to pull the most important trains and sulked if another engine were to pull one. He refused to pull goods trains or shunt his own trains and looked down on other engines who did. He especially liked to tease and belittle Edward because he was old and he saw him as unreliable. However, as the years went on Gordon matured and got rid of some of his rude tendencies. He doesn't belittle Edward anymore and now sees him as a really useful engine. He still dislikes goods trains and shunting but isn't childish or whiny when he is assigned to do so. He doesn't look down on the little tank engines anymore and realizes they are an essential part of railway operation. He is still boastful and arrogant but he has shown that even the most stubborn of engines can change for the better.
