Bio: Richard was built by Derby works in 1903 for freight service on the Midland Railway. He worked there for several years before being bought by SCR in 1915. He was brought in to help with goods traffic on the main lines and branch lines. He and another midland engine named Marina, were assigned to the Kirk Ronan branch line, and have worked their ever since.

Personality: Richard is loud, meddlesome, and a bit of a gossip. He likes loud places, with hustle and bustle, and bright lights. He's very vibrant and fun to be around, especially when he's not working. He's very friendly too, making him quite popular among the other engines. He has a good work ethic and is often willing to jobs he isn't assigned. He gets bored very easily on his branch line, nothing ever happens there and often complains to the other engines about it. He can also be very meddlesome, especially with his passengers, which annoys them. He often can get caught up in gossip with his friends at Tidmouth and sometimes spread it. He doesn't mean any harm but, it can get annoying at times. Everyone loves him all the same and is a valued member of the SCR fleet.
