This started as a sketch from Rise of the Ogre, classic Phase 1 Murdoc.....but, me thinks I've gotten used to a drawing him a certain way. He looks like a cross between the Phases and my style.So, Kickin' Old School folks....a Multi-Phase Murdoc

and it's SO hard to try and draw him in just one phase, and they always end up mixed up with your own style, same happens with me. He's difficult like that.
But I still think he looks great!

It is. I found an early Phase 1 drawing I did with a pen during my lunch break at work.....Ugh. I think he's more difficult to draw when he was more cartoonish versus Phase 2, 3...etc. So, it's like your mind automatically attempts to gain a more realistic look for him.

Definitely!! Some real big changes.. like his arms got a big skinnier.. and his cheekbones got higher up as well as turning green.

LOL, I forgot about this one. Multi-phase Murdoc, LMAO! I was sincerely trying for Phase 1, but just couldn't bring myself to draw it. It was almost instinctual to sketch him as I normally do.

Kickin' it old school is the best way; phase one is my favourite phase. I've seen this one before, in ROTO, and the alterations are actually preferable to the original. Another great

I am partial to early Phase 2, just before he goes green (adore him in the Feel Good Inc vid, that just oozes sexy, LOL).
I think my mind and hand struggled a bit. Want to draw Phase 1, but hand is used to a certain way of drawing him.

I like the way you draw him, very much so. But it's fun trying to draw something in a different style; just be aware that sometimes you forget the old method.

I remember that. Liked it a lot. If I recall, wasn't it originally a slight mistake on positioning and all but ended up working for the art?
I've developed this weird cross of Hewlett and my style, I've noticed. My style is evident with his face shape and nose. At least from what I see.
That was the problem, initially. I took too long of a break and had to sort of rework it all again.

Minus the green skin, his body made me think of Phase 1 with the short torso, long legs and arms (ever see the CGI version of Clint Eastwood?)
His head was exceptionally disproportionate, but overall, I didn't really mind. I was too busy freaking out over a 3D shirtless Murdoc.

True. We also have to keep in mind that Hewlett is notorious for inconsistency.
Another thing someone pointed out, CGI is actually cheaper to produce than regular animation. They can keep back-ups of the creations and re-use them as they need them.
