What inspires you to make all of your art? Also what kind of references do you use if at all?

Suffering inspires me, both my own and the world's. Before I paint, I sit down and ask the universe to create through me. I then paint in a random way by adding lines and marks until an image appears in my mind, suggested by the shapes in front of me. Occasionally, like in my latest piece, I'll study proportions and do observational drawing to make sure the image takes on a realistic appearance. After some time, I instinctively know when it's finished.
