Description [link] to the original.

I was going to make a tutorial when I made my last painting, but forgot to save my steps like halfway through. So I made sure to get it right this time. haha

If you use this tutorial you should (don't have to, but it'd be sweet) comment and link to your work down below. It can be a new environment you made yourself, or even the one I made and you kinda just followed along with me. (I don't mind, I'm not going to call you an art thief. Just don't say you made it 100% by yourself because I helped some d: )

Have fun and good luck!
I hope when you see this you are inspired to paint today

Turned out great for your first try! I actually like it
Only thing I can say is add some detail to the things closer up. Less detail as things get farther away. And some change in hue here and there.

Other than that, I think it's great! I love the character silhouette and the red coming off it. Nice touch.

Thanks!
I've got problems with shading and blending the layers, I can't figure out how to do that. Because of that I dont feel confortable to add more details, so the escape I've got is puting the camera more far from the scene. How can I do that propely? I dont get the "other dynamics brush" part as well.. =/

Thanks for the feedback!

Assuming you use a tablet, it's really easy. When you have the brush tool selected, hit F5 then look at the sections. One section should be called 'other dynamics.' In that section, change the brush opacity to change by 'pen pressure.' Blend the layers with the brush tool like this. Push down light at first, then down harder towards the end.

If that makes sense.

Wow this has been so helpful, I never even thought about rotating the canvas for better perspective! I just thought people drew it straight away as it was XD

I've been looking for new ways to draw and this one looks fun! I never really tried the gradient thing. I'm also nervous to try starting with BW. Woudn't it be hard to color afterwards?

I have been inspired to draw. Maybe I can link it later.

Thank you for making this.

Thanks!
Starting in black and white helps contrast and stuff. Gives you nice values. It's a good thing to practice, I think.

But yeah, definitely link the finished piece when you're done

I tried to explain as much as possible because I always feel like tutorials leave a lot of details out that could make someone really understand what I did fully.
