Description Sorry, this tutorial is incomplete. Ideally I'd discuss the process of coming up with color schemes for landscapes, but I'm only an amateur when it comes to that subject, so it's better people learn form the masters out there.

did you ever continue this?

Unfortunately, no. Β Sorry. Β I learned more about color since this tutorial and probably could make a really nice one, but I don't have any plans for that at this point; I've been busy with other things.

Fret not, though. Β There are plenty of well-made tutorials out there for you on whatever you're looking for. Β If you have trouble finding some for your particular project, I can try to help you out with something specific. Β Good luck!

This saddens me greatly xD
I jest, well, I learn a lot from this tutorial anyway, so thank you for that.

My project is speedpainting and just getting in touch with my BGs again, but if I have anything I need serious help with ,I will let you know, thank you

Dear lord, I am envious!

The way you make such realistic clouds and rock formations is beyond my skill level, but at the top of my admiration. Despite being a tutorial for a computer drawing system, I can guarantee this will change the way I draw landscapes, even if it's just on paper. You see, I'm only a freshman in high school, so I haven't the amazing tools like you do. My parents won't get them >.<'

But this is certainly quite useful. If I post anything on here with a proper landscape, you an expect I'll be giving you some credit for the tips! I know I'm not that popular, but you certainly should be.

Even your tutorials look so unbelievably outstanding!

GenjiLim In reply to Toppazz [2012-01-26 20:55:10 +0000 UTC]

I'm so happy you like my artwork! And don't worry about your current skill level. If you looked at the drawings I made freshman year in high school, you'd have no idea I was the same artist.

Hopefully when your parents recognize your seriousness about getting good at art they'll get you what you need. But developing art skills on paper is where every artist should start. Best of luck to you! : )

Ah, good. I'm glad you found this useful. I should probably make a new landscape tutorial someday to update what else I've learned and actually go into color.

If you want a good resource about composition for landscapes, I recommending taking some time to read this: [link] I found it really helpful.

Great! I'm glad you found it helpful.
It could use an introduction to using color as well, since this tutorial will only help you make a monotone landscape

If you want to get into painting landscapes and if you're willing to do a bit of reading, I highly recommend checking out this [link] It is very informative.

Good luck!

I'm making a tutorial thing myself too, but it covers an entirely different genre--like basic anatomy for different ages, and storyboarding :I
(it'll be up in a few weeks on some entirely different site )

Propably I'll start trying to use Photoshop instead of Corel Painter

Cool, I'm glad you found it helpful.

Both Photoshop and Corel Painter are awesome programs. Just use whichever you're most comfortable with. Both of them allow you to produce amazing pieces of art.
