I updated my Galor class, and also built the Keldon variant from it, as part of a project I'm involved with.

The science section does occasionally make a big deal about discoveries that were made so long ago I can't even remember how long I knew about them, but I focus more on the stories about space probes and such anyway - such as the Japanese probe exploring this dinky little asteroid and successfully placed two small rovers on it.
Otherwise, yeah - the last time I was wanting current information on developments asap was when those Thia kids got trapped inside that flooded cave and had to be rescued. i couldn't wait to find if of they all made it out alive. But ongoing situations like that are fortunately fairly rare.
