Description
Commodore's starlog, 21 December, 2160. We all know both sides are exhausted. But this is not over! We have to keep pushing, as long as we defeat our faceless enemies. Cheron might be their final stand. All the ships they got, all of them are assembled here. Heavy casualties are expected. But we have to keep fighting. Not for us, not for Earth, but all the many we've lost during the four years...Cheron was the final stands for the Romulan Star Empire, just as Commodore Archer has predicted. After four years of bloody warfare, Starfleet has pushed the Imperial Navy into the vicinity of the Romulan Heartworlds. By the time of the Battle of Cheron, Earth was struggling to keep up the fight, but the Romulans simply had no more respurces, manpower, and, it might be said, willpower to keep on fighting.
Cheron was a major victory for Starfleet and a devastating blow for the Romulans. After the battle has ended, all of their main-line cruisers were destroyed. Their cloaking technology was long lost, and their navy was reduced to a handful of light cruisers and a couple of littoral combat ships. Although they did not know that Earth was unsure in dealing the final blow upon Romulus, the Romulan leadership didn't want to risk a final, even more devastating defeat. After keeping radio silence for many years, the Romulan Praetor Gileus has broadcast what came to be known as the Acceptance of Defeat and Call for A Grand Peace. Knowing that Starfleet is struggling to keep up the fight, the Human leadership accepted the peace. The Romulan War was officially over.

If the end of the Romulan War was the impetus for the founding of the Federation, wouldn't the Andorians, Tellarites, and Vulcans be stepping up too? There was a start to this alliance in the ENT series proper when the Romulan mimic ship things were provoking everyone.

There are various conflicting stories on it. In current EU "canon", they say the others privided Earth with materiel but did not fight the Romulans themselves.

VERY nice! Just Faved it.
Wasn't the Romulan war over before the Enterprise got refitted with an engineering hull though? At least in the books if not the TV series.
Still great work. Did you draw this & then scan it or is it all digital. If so, what program did you use?

The unofficial version now is that the NX-01 was refitted before the war.
I use 3DS Max.

Az emberiség legyengítette a romulánokat, meghiúsította a tervüket hogy egymás ellen uszítsa a fajokat,a vulkániak és a többi akik kibújtak a háborúból élvezték a békét amiért mi áldoztunk a legtöbbet.Szép Aztán 240 év múlva a klingolnok emiatt tudtak megint arcoskodni.

I can almost see this taken as a picture by a joint human Romulan temporal team.
The human acting like its a sports event rewatched while the Romulan critcing the tactics used.

First may I say, I called it. Figured Cheron to be the next battle. Second, Oh my god, all of the glory United Earth Starfleet is reaping; the Klingon's would be so proud, and jealous. Third, awesome work Mr. Metlesits. Awesome work. Maybe some day I wil post my timeline of the Earth-Romulan War, if I ever figure out how to make it so everyone can see it.

Romulan secrecy is a bit weird. But we know they like to stay in the background, manipulating events without drawing attention to themselves. As for the War being foguht with nukes, it's understandable: It was easier to manufacture them than photon(ic) torpedoes. Even in our real world and time, building a nuclear bomb isn't such a great feat nowdays. Photonic torpedoes were reserved for NX class capital ships, the rest used nuclear spatial torpedoes.

Personally, I don't think the Battle of Cheron was a conventional battle as we see so very often in Trek. Either way, I'd love to see more battle scenes with the Daedalus Class, but I'd love to see a scene in which they're not hidden behind Enterprise.

GateFan In reply to thefirstfleet [2014-12-22 01:42:43 +0000 UTC]
The Romulans are a very xenophobic species. More so than ever at this point in time. I feel the Battle of Cheron would have been more of a digital battle than a direct confrontation. Perhaps more of a conflict using more Aenar remote pilots or more subterfuge that Starfleet eventually learns how to break, and end the battle, thus ending the war.
If I recall correctly, nuclear weapons were used during the war. They might have been able to have an effect on the Romulan's stealth capabilities.
