Description Guys, rendering the Dyson Sphere interior was hard! The greeblage comes from my Borg Cube, so building the thing was easy, but even my massive computer could not render it in one piece. So I rendered the two halves and composited them in Photoshop...

that was good episode, and that is good picture - who would have thought, that such big starship, can be so maneuverable! Β

Geordi: Captain we won't be able to move this ship by the time you get here! Β You're gonna have to destroy it in order to escape!

He may not have been in the episode, but Transporter Chief Miles O'Brien saved Geordi and a legendary Starfleet engineer on this day thanks to his 'transporter frequency trick'. Β Montgomery Scott was probably amazed at somebody figuring out how to perform a transport through shields, and personally commended O'Brien as him and Geordi stepped off the transporter pad. Β Probably had this to say too: "I'm glad in bloody hell SOMEBODY knows these transporters like the back of their hand! Β I never was really that good with them! Β Oh, I could repair 'em, but you better not need to use them in a hurry, and DON'T ask me to work me miracles and try to make them do something thought impossible! Β The suspension in the pattern buffer was a major, MAJOR roll of the dice that was only...50% successful...I'm sorry again, Franklin..." sighs in remorse for Ensign Franklin who's pattern degraded in the pattern buffer of the Jenolen

I think what actually happened was that the transporter was energized, and then when Picard ordered the photon torpedoes fired a few seconds later, which would have first eradicated the shields, the beam grabbed Scotty and Geordi in the split second before the Jenolan was destroyed (with its shields gone already). We've seen something like that a few times before.

You could see Picard hesitate a few moments, as if to countdown the time until the next command; a little like a submarine commander accounting for drift or a time delay.

Doesn't diminish the Chief's skill in any way, but as Scotty himself said before, "Yer cannae change the laws of physics..."

Scotty learned from a great man that risk... risk is their business!

Just now remembered too that in the episode, after they get the Jenolen patched up enough to lumber around on impulse, Geordi offers the center seat to Scotty, but Scotty declines of course, not because he's not command qualified, but because of being an engineer his true calling. Β Scotty was command qualified though, as several times in the original series, during landing party missions that Sulu was needed on, Scotty was called on by Kirk to take the center seat and look after the ship, so the command seat was not completely alien to him, he just didn't like having the command seat's burden on his shoulders. XD

Remember where this shot was used in Voyager?

When Harry Kim and Tom Paris in the alternate timestream stole the Runabout Kim designed, the Yellowstone.

First thing out of my mouth 'Is this the alternate timeline WHERE STARFLEET HAS MASTERED THE ART OF DYSON SPHERE CONSTRUCTION?! STAY, HARRY! STAY!!!'
