As many of you have guessed, I built the DSC Phaser as a printable object. The printing and post-work took a week, and I'm really satisfied with the result.Printed with a Wanhao Duplicator 7 resin printer and painted with Mr. Hobby paints and coats.

Approximately how many hours of printing?

The main body took 12 hours. The handle took 6 or 7. The emitter took around 2. Postwork took 5 days (waiting for the bondo and paint to dry, mostly.

Nice Phaser, doesn't suffer with delta overload like the one shown at SDCC.

It's actually my mistake, it came out too shallow. Sometimes the CGI model and the 3D printout look a bit different.

Is it me, or does this look like a Kirk era phaser II body with a Pike era muzzle/emitter?
Only I thought Discovery was set earlier than Pike.

Yeah, it looks like a hybrid.
DSC is set in 2255, which is one year after The Cage.

Cool, I like how well it combines the Cage Laser and TOS Phaser pistol.

This may be the single best piece of DSC design. Its the only thing that looks like its appropriate for the period, depicted in the show. Everything else looks too alien, or too advanced.
