Elafi Aeropeios being trained: Export 0391
Trainer: Calanthe Ellick

Note: the Elafi in the process of being captured is 19.2hh/198.5cm (since they don't have an import height and I really want a Big horse). Cala is only 5'4"/157cm and is tiny next to her giant new pone.

Method: 4BP method. An Australian training method which seeks to train wild horses (Brumbies) quickly in a pain and stress free method starting with a "hi there" face up method and forms a strong bond between horse and trainer.

Story: word count - 481 words

Four days after the stallion’s capture Calanthe could approach him and have him willingly face up and could stoke and pat his face and sides he also now turned and followed her lead on by an “invisible rope”.

A week after the stallion’s capture Calanthe was climbing through his legs and beginning to get him to lower his head for her, allowing her to put on a rope halter and lead him from a physical rope for the first time.

Ten days after the stallion’s capture Calanthe taught him to bow low for her; tapping his muzzle and foreleg until he gracefully folded a foreleg and bent his head.

Twelve days after the stallion’s capture Calanthe once again asked him to bow low for her but this time instead of letting him up to his feet immediately she asked him to stay, held close to the ground as she placed a foot atop his bent leg and climbed onto his broad back.

Tucking her legs in behind his wings Calanthe quickly knotted her hands into his pale mane and sat lightly. She tapped her sandled foot softly against the soft skin behind the stallion’s elbow and he slowly rose to his feet.

The stallion stood head held high his withers shivering at the little human woman’s touch and her weight upon him. He snorted once and craned his head back to look at her.

Calanthe grinned to him and relaxed. Her grip on his mane loosened and she stroked his neck murmuring to him comfortingly.

With a deep breath the tightly wound tension in the stallion’s frame melted away and he shuffled his wings resettling the feathers around his rider’s legs. He accepted her. He accepted this; a rider, a partner, someone he could trust and would listen to.

After a moment Calanthe tapped at the front of his neck and said with confidence, “Down Weiryn.”

Weiryn hesitated for a moment thinking through the command back to their practice and the multiple times those cues had been used while his human was on the ground. Bobbing his head he dropped slowly to one knee wings flaring out from his sides, their tips brushing the ground.

Calanthe nimbly dismounted and asked Weiryn to stand again. The big stallion did so and then stepped forwards into Calanthe, resting his head against her chest so that his pointed horns rested either side of her head. Yet she was in no danger from him. He would not hurt her. He had already decided that he would let nothing hurt her.

Calanthe may not have know what Weiryn felt but she trusted him too, feeling safe with him. Their first ride had been a success and she was looking forward to many more in the time they had left at the Grecian Stables and in the years to come after they returned to Four Season’s Stable.

Hey

I really love this drawing! I would like to add it to Asgardian-Horse favorite folder "winged horse inspiration". But I wanted to ask for your permission first, if you are okay with that!
