Hehehe.. I couldn´t contain myself.. HAD to do it! XDAfter seeing the new Sonic with the "Sonic Boom" trailers and all.. couldn´t help but think on how his "re-design" was truly created!
So well, fun purposes only, here is a pratical making of for the new Sonic!
Sonic, of course, belongs to SEGA!

I was excited for Sonic Boom...until it turned out to be ANOTHER Nintendo exclusive. Sega needs to realize to not EVERY that like Sonic owns a Nintendo console
Though it does look like Kncukles was put on steroids (which I did not like)

Well.. we always had the problem with exclusives now and then...the new Killer Instinct is a good example for me here! XD
Sonic seems to be a partnership with Nintendo that I see fit these days... with all the sport games they did together and Smash Bros´s special guest.. seems Sonic may be tied up with big N for a while
I know it sucks cause Sonic was the "mascot" for the other consoles in the past generation.. but you know how these kind of things are.. sometimes we have everything we wanted in one console.. in others we have to get other one just because of it exclusives!
So, let´s see how "Sonic Boom" will develop.. seems interesting and all (even with Knuckles design changes) and I think SEGA deserves a chance to show a GOOD original Sonic game!

True and because of that a number of great games became forgotten or hidden gems because they were either one the wrong platform, were supported well enough, or when they got on to one where people might be interested it was already too late
I heard that Nintendo paid Sega to do all these games and the Sonic Boom is the last one. When means they will start trying to put games out on playstation and other platform again. Since I like Sonic but not enough to buy Nintendo console or handheld. Never really bought either for a single game...a single genre but never a single game.
If the only reason I want something is because of the exclusives then I normally overlook it as that not worth to me. I like Sonic but again he was not worth cost a any Nintendo platform he been stuck on for the last five years or so mostly. I stuck with Sony mostly because they have good track record of having a variety of games both with exclusives and third party games
I thought Sonic Unleashed and Sonic Generations were great games (Sonic Colors and RPG one for DS seem like one as well from how a lot people talk about). With Generations being the best Sonic game I played since Sonic Adventure 2. They already made quite a few GOOD Sonic game it just people have not acknowledge the fact that they have created GOOD Sonic games recently though

Yeah, can´t deny that exclusives are quite a pain for us players who want to get the best of each company, but also, the main thing that make us chose a console in the end!
Sonic got many ups and downs till Generation, with good moments like Sonic colors and bad ones like Sonic dark knight!
Generations is good.. but it´s also a pretty big fan service.. so I guess they couldn´t go wrong with it... what I´ve meant in the good "original" game is to make a game that resembles the Sonic formula we all enjoyed back in the day without being repetitive and all.. I guess that´s the challenge Sonic has been facing for the last couple of years
These days, Sonic seems to be handling well on the Nintendo background, Sonic Lost world is pretty much decent and it seems Sonic Boom will say a lot about the franchise continuing to be exclusive or not... can´t tell that yet
But, anyways, seems that it´s gonna be like this till the end of this generation, with franchises coming and go, and, for me, that´s completely normal since I always suffered and got benefits from this
You know, since the N64, became more of a Nintendo fan here.. love its exclusives and it was the main reason why I have a Gamecube and a Wii now,but, never had anything against the other companis, since I had a Playstation 2 and a Dreamcast also, just never got into the PS3 and Xbox for this generation
For me, the third-parties and all could be found at the PCs, so the exclusives from PS3 and Xbox never got my attention that much for me to buy a console
In this new generation, seems things will be pretty much difficult since both Nintendo and Microsoft are really trying to get a good bunch of exclusive titles to get their new consoles running, so there might be even more gems that many will not have access because they have chosen one or the other... and in a gaming perspective, that´s truly sad
But that reminds me on how good is to have friends around... since I´m a Nintendo main, I´m really used to gather people around to play local rather than online, so, with this, I´ve met with people with Xboxes and Play 3 who could lend some games or even show them at their houses... that helped me a lot on knowing their best assets and yet, without the need of buying the console for just one or two games

Exclusives do not bother me that much. I do not like FPS games so missing out on newest Halo, Gear of Wars, or even Titanfall is no big lost for me (cause basically Xbox is just FPS games) and the few RPGs they have gotten have for the most part been brought over to either the Playstation or Nintendo. Those that have not well that no big loss cause there always another game . Nintendo games are good but none good enough for me to buy a console JUST for them alone. Exclusives to me are the main reason why I do not want to buy a consoles.
IF that had came out on something other then the Wii. I might have bought Sonic Dark Kinght as did look interesting
Repetitive? That something I never really got as to why people dislike some Sonic games (other then Color, Generations, and Unleashed which I did like)

Never had Super NES or N64. Never knew Zelda or half of Nintendo's series beyond Mario existed until Smash Bros. (Computer were not big part of my life until middle school in the late 90's nor did I read game magazine). Also did not know about third party game beyond what I managed to find myself in stores(which I did not go to often). So Nintendo nostalgia has no effect on me in fact it quite the opposite as I got bored with video games playing NES and original US Sega console (might not have even liked Nintendo other series at that point). Then someone just bought in Playstation summer camp I was in and pretty much that what I decide to take a chance on it. Stuck with Sony since then
Try PC gaming as secondary form and got bored so I went to Ipod instead as a secondary with consoles and handhelds being my primary.
I am not too worry as again exclusives to me are the main reason why I do not want to buy a consoles. With Sony since the very first Playstation has always has the most variety when it came gaming on a console in my opinion. So why there might be quite a few games I can not play now (some eventually do come over given time) or ever. Despite not having that one game there always 3 to 4 other I chose from in its place
If can not play or have no desire to buy the game. I just do not play it at all and if I am interested in the story I just go online and read about or watch no commentary playthrough of it.

I think it´s all about the console experiences and all... of course the games counts a whole lot in this, but I guess, in the end, it´s pretty much clear where each console was aiming in the past generation
XBox 360 was all about online.. a friend of mine has and LOVES to play on the web, so, definetely, one of the consoles with the best approach in terms of online play, ranks, matches and all this
Play 3 on the other hand, even getting a pretty much decent online experience, seems to focus more in hardware power (graphics and visual contents) and in single-player experience, with games much more focused in campaigns and long stories
The Wii, for me, was all about gather everyone around and have a fun time, it´s easy to get the Wii games to play around, as also the Gamecube ones and even some emulators with the whole homebrew scene the Wii had, so it´s more of an "old generation" feel to a new console
Since I´m pretty much a fan of both joining the gang and to play the classics, yeah, the Wii was the one for me (and still is to this day! XD)
Of course, miss some other experiences with other games that comes only to the X and Play3, but, as you´ve said, if we are interested in the story and stuff like that we just go online and read about or watch a no commentary playtrought of it!
Worked pretty much well to me in this past generation.. still don´t know how things will be in this one.. the future seems a little dark in general, with bad selling consoles, lack of new interesting games and even unnoticable improvements to games for the new consoles compared to the past ones
I may have grown a little "against" the new generation with time, must admit, but, in the end, I think it´s all about your own experiences with gaming itself and, of course, we gotta try to find it even with things going to an uncertain future!
I think that´s the whole thing with Sonic too, he has gone to many ups and downs (just like it´s own first games with the loops) in his carrer that we never know what will happen with the hedgehog.. but at least, aside from Mario, he is the only classic mascot that survived the 90´s and early 2000 and is still around.. so I guess he is already a winner by doing that! XD

I do not fully agree with that. It has some merit but again I do not fully agree with it
True as Xbox has mostly been about online and FPS games with not much unless
PS3 has been more balanced in my opinion then either the 360 or the Wii. They had some games that focused on graphics and telling long stories. I never really felt limited in my choices as play whatever genre I wanted in whatever style I wanted
Again there parts where I agree and others I do not.
I like playing alone. I go online mostly to get DLC, Demos, and mostly play MMOs alone. Classics are Classics but how you define a classic is not set in stone.
The past generation felt fine to me. There were some problems here and there but it was pretty decent. The future is looked decent to me as sure there are people who demand new consoles and then complained when they got them (never understood that). I have no problems finding new and interesting games from either the big 4 of video games (Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and PC), the others (Ipod/Android), and the rest. Never understood why people were expecting such a big leap between PS3/ Wii/ and X360 era of game to the PS4/ XONE/WII U era of games. There was not really anything to look forward to other the possibility of first wave of new game to show the promise of what to come much further down the line. There more I could say but I am not sure I could word it properly in wiriting
I neither for the new or the old generation. Both have their merits and BOTH have their downsides. Also the future is always uncertain to a extend no matter how well you might thought to have prepare for it. To think otherwise is only asking for trouble.
There are many characters that have survived from the 90's and early 2000's (Rachet and Clank, Spryo, Sly Cooper, Overlord Larhal, the Persona series, etc). Sure many of them are not in the same form as their 90's- early 00's counterparts, the characters from the originals in some are but memories but the series itself is still around and going strong in one form or another. There are reason I like Sonic more then Mario but I am sure I could explain properly in writing.

I guess he got both good and bad changes to his design... his face for example, I think it´s much BETTER than the 3D sonic we had.. don´t know.. it seems like a mix of both his classic looks and the new one!
Now.. I think the think I´ve stranged the most was his anatomy
He and Knuckles suffered much from the adaptation for a more fluid animation and dinamic ones (the main reason why they have changed mostly these two and not Tails and Amy) but yeah.. I think Sonic is still passable if we compare him with the new Knuckles (the guy is WEIRD now!)
Of course, still have to wait for the final thing to see if they got it right.. but it´s surely full of good and bad moments for every Sonic fan out there! (me included!)
