No stars, no moon, the pride lands looked even more dead at night. The noise of creaking dried branches echoed in the subtle wind the blow lightly into the cave on the King. Sadis leaned next to the stone wall, for she was feeling rather tried by now, not only that her throat was so dry. Having not rested on the way it was taking its toll, but she said nothing to Scar about. The horse avoided the lion’s eyes often for there was still guilt in her of having nearly crushed him, even so Sadis was uncomfortable. However to her relief the hyenas had left the cave by now, the atmosphere was a bit less tense. Scar did most of the talking and Sadis would answer with mainly a yes or no to the questions, irritated with her decision on staying. For now Sadis had kept quiet about Simba. King Scar suddenly yawned loudly, snapping his teeth shut with a clash. “Time to get some sleep. Come Sadis” she signed and followed him as he strolled to the end of the cave. The horse dropped to her keens and flopped onto her side, taking up quite a lot of space. “Tired?” he smirked standing over her. “Very and I must go out tomorrow for a drink, I’m so thirsty” Scar lay not too far away “There is no water, well hardly. You won’t find any” he said putting his head on his paws “I will, I know where I can find some” she didn’t move but her voice was harder. “How will you?”
“Scar I was born and raise in the desert, you’d I think I know how to find water in places like this? How do you think my kind survives out there?” Now he was interested “This water would be where?”
“Under the river bed or bank, dig deep enough and there will be pools of water. You just need to know which part to look” she went to scratch her shoulder. “You have lots of knowledge I can use. You will tell me more but until morning” Sadis was about to argue when three shapes enter the space. Shenzi, Banazi and Ed were back. Scar’s eyes opened for a moment before closing. “You guys just don’t go away” Sadis hissed. “Tough we sleep here” said Banazi. Her eyes widened “Ohh no no” she flipped on to her knees “I ain’t sleeping anywhere near you idiots” she was now standing, but Scar was up too, trying to push her back down “ No need to worry Sadis” he pushed on her back hard and she got to her knees again. “Yeh don’t worry; we only rip legs off in are sleep. I will take your front one; it’s had enough damage to it already” Shenzi laughed as she passed the horse. “You’re just asking me to break your jaw now” Sadis snapped at the hyena. Shenzi’s face changed, her lips pulled back over her pointed teeth and eyes narrowed. “Which reminds me...? I haven’t repaid you for a painful headache you gave me some time ago...” she looked at Sadis with a deadly smile but the horse just grinned “Why do you want another one? I’m sure I can give you one twice as hard but it may knock you out for a while, but I don’t mind” In that moment the hyena leaped forward, now just inches from Sadis’s face. Both had their ears right back, necks arched with eyes burning as they stared at each other “You know I don’t care if my prey is dead before I start eating it!” Shenzi growled without parting her teeth. “That enough you two” Scar came in between them, like a parent trying to control a couple of kids. Shenzi backed down and went to sleep with her brothers. “Me and her really don’t get on” Sadis said afterwards “Yes I can see that, she’ll get over it in time. In the mean time just try not to KILL each other” Scar signed sitting right next her this time. “Sadis your so warm” he rubbed against her belly. She was hot after today but as Scar touched her he felt so cold and it made Sadis shake. This was going to be a long night.

“Pssss hey pssss! Wake up” Sadis woke to a familiar voice. She lifted her head a saw Zazu, caged in the rib cage of a warthog. “Ooh Sadis you’re alive!!! Finally some hope at last. I knew some would come soon. Knew it!” he stuck his head through the bars. “It nice to see you again Zazu... It’s a shame it has to be at a time like this” Sadis then felt something on her and turned to see Scars head resting on her hip. How annoying. “Yes things have changed” his face fell. Like Rafiki he asked about the day of the stampede and Sadis told him in the same manner. “I heard your conversion with the king when you came in; I was afraid I would have made it worse if I had said anything” he said after. She smiled at him. “How are the lioness’s coping?” Sadis whispered. “They are not coping Sadis, we have lost four since Scars rule and....” Sadis stopped him “What happened to Nala?” Zazu paused and it worried her “Ooo it was terrible Sadis, it was just like she vanished off this earth. She went out on her second hunt alone and never came back. We all fear the worst” she could feel the tears coming “Poor Nala, her childhood was spent alone...” Sadis looked up confused “A week after Scar became king all the male cubs were killed, including Nala’s little brother.” The horse had to duck her head and grit her teeth to stop her from screaming. She looked over to Scar “WHY! Why would he do that! Its not like him”
“ I would say it very much like him. Whatever he has told you Sadis It was a lie no doubt. Your friendship is a thing of the past. Nothing can change him. I guess there is no hope for the kingdom” The bird sat down in disappear. “All is not lost! Not yet” the strong and positive voice made Zazu look up at the horse “There is someone who can save this land” as she said it Zazu was up to the bars stretching his neck out “Who Sadis! Who? A lion?” Sadis looked out the corner of her eye to Scar, was he really asleep? “Yes a young lion, I have been caring for him while I’ve been away”
“What his name”
“Does it matter? I know he can save the Kingdom” suddenly Zazu didn’t look sure and leaned away “But he’s not royalty. He wouldn’t have any teaching or training” Scar’s claws contracted for some reason and Sadis gave out a small yelp, but then took a deep breath. “ I have teached him...”
“Have you?” Zazu asked joyfully “Yes everything I know he has learnt from laws, circle of life, responsibility, fighting skills and Kingship.” She said quietly “He just needs to believe and come here”
Zazu was pacing up and down his tiny cell excited. “You really think he can defeat King Scar and become a king?” Sadis glanced away to Scar again and then outside to their dying world before answering. “Yes he can”
“Then you must get away and bring him here...” Zazu order “ I will, but I’ll have to wait until Scar moves then I will go. For now I must sleep, I’ve got along journey ahead of me” Sadis put her large head down “ Yes of course. Sleep and I will wake you when you are free” The two shut their eyes and were soon asleep. However there talk had not been as privet as they thought for King Scar had been awake and hear every work pair spoke. His blood raged at the idea of Sadis betraying him.......
