Description
My version of King Helios from the old Filmation He-Man Cartoon (episode: "Curse of the Spellstone").This look evolved from this picture , which is my rendition of this guy .
I love that custom figure.
I also did a version of him in his fire-form .
I think the custom figure would have looked pretty sweet cast entirely in the translucent red-orange plastic with minimal paint apps.

I drew the character, then did the armor as a separate drawing and put it on its own layer in Photoshop, adjusting the opacity until I was satisfied with how translucent it seemed. Nothing too fancy, but it did give me the effect I was after.

Thanks - it took me a while to get it "right" (or at least, how I wanted it), but it feels like it was worth the effort.
