Description Got into the Houdini software lately to start realizing some of the effects concepts for my project. I built my own crowd simulation tool for the koi fish that works with RenderMan and RIB archive to distribute hundreds of them without sacrificing computing efficiency. They have basic behaviors to react to characters' movements as directed, avoid bumping into their surroundings and each other. When in motion, a small library of swim animations is accesses and randomized.

The rocks use a similar concept as the fish to distribute data with RIB archiving on RenderMan. This enables me to distributes hundreds of thousands (half a million in this case) of rocks, each scaled and rotated randomly, and render in may be a couple minutes at HD resolution. Upon further development, I will like use a couple versions of rocks to a little more variation. I was mostly concerned with efficiency but ended up very pleased with the short render times. When in motion, the bed of rocks will wave in an ocean-like way (hence why they are blue).

Well I certainly can't stop anyone from drawing him but to be honest I'm little apprehensive about it. I appreciate the support and think its awesome but right now these guys aren't fully protected under any actual copyright or anything. I'm already having a little trouble with my school wanting to stamp their name all over the project ><. If your friends want to draw him that's ok, and I'm sure you guys know what's up with credit and all that. Just be sure to let any curious people know these guys are mine and that they are for this project. Happy drawing!
