Ah, but some of the finest Dandelion Wine can be had from a fine crop of the little weed! And a really good vintage of Dandelion Wine can be heavenly!

(of course, a basic batch of porch-climber wine can also be made as well)

Thank you for stopping by. This is not far from you, I know. We are so lucky to see whole fields of pure yellow and green in Springtime. I walked around the dandelions in the highway 16 park in Houston just last month, just before they were mowed, and then I lay down and watched the sunshine and clouds go overhead as I swatted mosquitos . It was a totally lovely day...

Welcome. Yes, we sure are lucky. That's so peaceful, just finding a nice spot, and layind down on it. It's fun blowing the seeds off of the stems. Hehe, I was doing that today.

I missed the Morel picking season entirely. I love picking Morel Mushrooms, and even better, frying them in a bit of butter. I do love this part of cour country, but it all goes too fast, just a blink and it is all over.

Would love to spend an afternoon blowing dandelion fluffs with you sometime.

Aww, I miss Morel Mushrooms too. My dad and I went picking those one day, and got a good amount. We dried them so we can use them later one. I fried up a few though. Those are one of my favourite mushrooms. I agree, it does end too soon.

I'm sure it'd be fun.

These were on a friend's field behind their house, at a place called Francois Lake. On the north shore. On a sunny day, on a small hill overlooking the bay where the ferry comes in.

Bees can be scary My sister is allergic to bee stings, goes into toxic shock or something...

But this was a completely lovely day, and when I see the pic, I am reminded of it again.

yes, lots of bees, but you know, i gave them time to move as I lay down, and they just moved along. we shared a lovely hot afternoon among the brilliant yellow dandelions.
