Description
The Starblade is a common but effective frigate of Kandorian design. This model has 4 turreted pulse lasers delivering gigawatts of energy to the surface of enemies. Its effective range is massive compared to most ships and its spinning, actively cooled, mirror armor prevents laser damage further. It isn't without its flaws however, as any damage to the frontal armor limits its laser protection. Its thrusters being limited to the rear hull also prevents it from being too maneuverable. Lastly its high energy needs mean it shines like a beacon whenever using its main weapon, making it next to impossible to miss them when out in deep space. For a frigate it’s also quite small and it’s often classified as a corvette interchangeably.

The ships have 6 dusty plasma radiators dubbed “etherical wings”. These non-solid radiators allow them to function without fear of the radiators being burnt off by opposing laser equipped forces. Despite its armor protection being primarily best for laser weaponry, new refits for the Noid war use a non-actively cooled frontal armor cone, allowing its regular armor-based defense against kinetic weapons to be heightened.

It carries about 25 crew with double occupant escape pods for up to 32 average sized sapients. Due to this ship being made primarily for Kandorian biology, with many climbing surfaces and vertical access points, it is rare to see members of other species as crew. Patrol models carry 4 repair drones to allow quick repairs out in the field.
