Description
Okay, still having way too much fun with these. Once again using blank space marine templates to make this.Sons of Truth and Reconciliation Chapter is a splinter group from the Dark Angels. It is unknown exactly when the split occurred although it believed to be some time during or possibly just after the Horus Heresy. They are a renegade chapter listed as heretics and traitors although this is not their whole story. At some point in their history what would later become the founders of Sons of Truth and Reconciliation, found a large data cache detailing the Emperor's plans to create a secular Imperium with him simply as it's leader and not as a divine being. This caused them to reject the Adeptus Ministorum and the Imperial Cult, viewing them as lies meant to lead humanity astray and a complete betrayal of the Emperor's will. The chapter does not view the Emperor as a god but rather the pinnacle of humanity that all should aspire to.
Even though they are vied as traitors and heretics they still seek to uphold the Emperor's goals of defending the weak and helpless of the Imperium from those who wish them harm. They try and help human worlds when possible but often cannot for fear of the people they help being labeled as heretics themselves for receiving the aid of traitors. More often, the chapter will destroy enemies of mankind such as Orks and the agents of Chaos, especially when they directly threaten either human worlds or space liens. While they are considered to be enemies of mankind by all other space marine chapters, this is especially true in the case of the Dark Angels who believe that they can only find redemption in the eyes of the Emperor by either destroying or reabsorbing all the traitor legions of their chapter including the Sons of Truth and Reconciliation.
They do not have a home world as such do to them constantly on the run, instead making base on their small flotilla of ships and space hulks. The chapters numbers are dangerously low at present because of their extremely limited ability to take on new candidates. They rejected to the Codex Astartes, instead favoring using varying tactics and on the fly strategy. They have no favored equipment on the battlefield, instead using what ever they have access to. This is mostly a result of not having reliable access to supplies for several centuries. The only other significant difference of Sons of Truth and Reconciliation are that they don't perform the mind scouring procedures all other chapters use during the Astartes transformation process. Instead, new recruits go through vigorous mental and physical training with their fellow new recruits and seasoned members of the chapter. They go on long training missions on death worlds where they must rely on each other to survive or die horribly. This forces an extreme bond to form between brothers of the chapter and the ones who do not never survive the training process. New recruits are allowed to keep their original minds because it is believed that having such varied outlooks keeps the chapter's thinking and strategy from stagnating.

Wow. They know the truth, and yet they are the traitors to the Big E. Way to go, Ecclesiarchy.
Also, why are they named after a Covenant Warship?

Yes. Welcome to the clusterfuck that is the Imperium of Man.
hehe that was a bit of an easter egg type thing. I was trying to come up with a name like the Sons of Truth or maybe the Sons of the Emperor's Truth or something like that. Then I remember the name of the ship from Halo and thought that would a funny little nod. Plus, it is a rather fitting name; they know the real TRUTH about the Emperor and they want to create RECONCILIATION with the Imperium's beliefs and his.

Nice! Many chapters like the Raven Guard do not see the emperor as a god though.

True. But these guys are very open about it and they actively oppose the idea of people looking at the Emperor as a god and the Imperium being run like a religion. They feel it betrays what he was working for.
