Description WALLOFTEXTWALLOFTEXTWALLOFTEXT

Man, you would think I would be used to using this tablet after all these years. Me thinks if I get in, I'll be doing the comics in pencil for time/effectiveness.

ANYWAY, I saw this Wonderlust OCT (How I do group links on DA? Man I'm out of the loop :U ) and thought "Yeah ok why not. I could do with something to distract me from my tedious programming stuff.

That there logo at the top is by
Everything else is by me.
This is for the

WHAT'S THAT? YOU WANT MORE WALLS OF TEXT? WELL OK THEN!

=========================================

A.R.L.A.C.A. is serving more of a sidekick role in this OCT to Captain Pryce so expect more details to do with the clock piece they find and why they are here in Pryce's REF sheet when I do it in the next couple of days.

A.R.L.A.C.A. (Advanced Robotic Lifestyle and Combat Assistant)

Age: 65 (Was created as part of the 2300 series)

Year: 2365

Height: 6' 5"

Weight: A 6 foot+ metal man? Pretty damn heavy!

Race: Robot (Human made)

Strengths:

Higher strength then most humans
Built for combat. Laser gun mounted in right arm (Stun, Damage or Kill settings). Mini turrets on legs.
Retractable studs in feet allow him wider range of traversable terrain. [there's a mouthfull...]
Walking encyclopedia. Full of databases of knowledge.
Very very observant. Can mathmatically estimate the trajectory and falling speed of objects (Thus allowing him to judge whether he needs to step in to protect a human)

Weaknesses:
Standard robot weaknesses (Short circuits and the like)
Left arm, while the claw is by no means useless, is no good in combat mainly due to not being part of his original build, it is very prone to failure when overused.
Cannot harm humans (Though at the same time will not simply allow himself to be destroyed [See the "3 laws of Robotics]). Non-humans are fair game though.
As a result, he will even stop Pryce attacking another defenceless human if need be.
Will drop everything to save a human who is in danger.
While no means slow, he isn't very agile and as such has problems in small spaces.
Loud when moving
Laser ammo is unlimited BUT overuse will require long cool down periods
Is an old model, so isn't quite the robot he used to be.

Arlaca has three main purposes:
To protect Pryce from sneak attacks
to help guide Pryce along his journey
to act as storage for the clock parts and Pryce's belongings. These are stored in his right compartment. His left compartment on his chest is full of boring robot stuff.

Arlaca is forced to follow a strict set of rules, which in short are:

1. Do not allow a human to come to harm
2. Follow all orders from a human unless it goes against rule 1
3. Do not allow yourself to be destroyed unless it goes against the first 2 rules

2 is subverted some what as he will always obey Pryce first and anyone else second (The chances of Pryce ordering a "Kill another human" command are slim to none for the record, so don't worry about that).

Of course, if Pryce is absent, he will follow another humans commands within reason.

Most of the time, expect to see Arlaca on the sidelines, only stepping in if one competitor, be it Pryce or his opponent is about to go too far.

In 2 Vs 2 matchs, Arlaca will most likely end up against the non-human opponent if there is one, though will be conflicted in trying to protect Pryce at the same time.

On a similar note, if an opponent is 50% or over human, Arlaca might register them as human, hence giving them a potential advantage as they would be protected from Arlaca's attacks unless they try to do serious damage to Pryce.

Pryce will 98% of the time try to go for the peaceful option of course, so there is considerably less worry about being on the recieving end of Arlaca's attacks... unless you're a non human who foolishly rushs in with intent to kill.

When not fighting, Arlaca, very much like Pryce, will research unknown things to a full extent. Though while Pryce is doing it more out of curiosity and facination of the "old ways", Arlaca's research is so he can attempt to complete his knowledge banks.

He is an advanced machine so can hold up a conversation (As long as it's based on a topic he has related knowledge to in his database). But while he will attempt to show false emotion, things such as sarcasm can be lost on him.

"Arlaca", "ARLACA", "A.r.l.a.c.a." and "A.R.L.A.C.A." are all acceptable spellings, the former ones being the less formal versions.

Arlaca has no real time dream of his own so he is going for the same thing as Pryce. Though Pryce will no doubt remind him that this may be a great time to get his arm back...

Note: It's cool to damage or even destroy Arlaca. He's a robot so can be rebuilt, so it wouldn't be the same as killing Pryce. I do ask to at least keep the head functioning though if you do. At the very least, Pryce can carry around a robot head to have a conversation with until he gets Arlaca fixed.

EDIT:
Secret Hobby:
Being a robot, he has very few interests, aside from strangely enough, watching old re-runs of American Football Superbowls as he recharges. It can be described as the one thing he is truely passionate about. He loves it so much that he erases all knowledge of a game before watching it again so as not to spoil the ending.

THAT LOOPHOLE!

You know. Follows human commands?

"Hey Arlaca, give me the clock piece."

Problem? Pryce has it covered. Each round he's giving Arlaca a shut down password, so if anyone but him asks for the piece, he goes into emergency shut down mode, locking the piece and everything else inside. The password will always be either a Shakespeare play or a Sherlock Holmes story. And obviously, with Arlaca shut down, he can't help Pryce. But at least the piece is safe! Right?...

Thanks!

I think I should actually expand on the stealth mode. Make it so that Arlaca wears it if there is ever a round set in the past in a highly populated area.

Cue obvious "totally-not-stolen-from-Animaniacs" joke where only a single person at a time ever sees through the obvious disguise and realises it's a robot.
