Description Well folks. The next Paper Mario Story has been chosen....and it is going to be the one I've been wanting to do for a very long time!! Paper Mario - Wrath of the Ztar King will be coming to a page near you. And whatever better way to start things off than to update and modify all of the Enemies of the game! Starting things off with your typical underling of underlings; The Goombas! I'll be going a whole nine yards with this. It'll be more than just pallete swaps. Some finer details will be added as well~! With that said, let's get to it! Oooh Tattle Log...How I've missed you <3

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STAR LOG
Goomba - That is a Goomba. These walking mushroom-people are about as simple as you can get, and this one seems to have quite a sour disposition. I think he’s looking to stir up trouble...or maybe he overheard someone calling him a wimp. It’s still quite a pervasive stereotype for Goombas...and I’m sorry to say that this one is a prime example.
HP: 2
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Special Attack: N/A
Additional Notes: A Goomba’s attack of choice is the “Headbonk”; it leaps into the air and strikes with its hard skull. This can sting quite a bit, but this guy seems to be on the weaker end of the scale; a well-timed block should render his blows harmless. He’s not any better on the defensive side of things, either; it shouldn’t take much effort to defeat him.

Paragoomba - This is a Paragoomba, a Goomba who has gained the power of flight. An impressive feat of evolution, isn’t it? I still remember when I took to the skies for the first time…… …Huh? You’re wondering how a walking mushroom grows wings in the first place? I’d love to explain, but I believe we should deal with this guy first.

HP: 2
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Special Attack: N/A
Additional Notes: Thanks to its wings, a Paragoomba can’t be struck by ground-based attacks, like your Hammer. However, a good jump can knock their wings right off, turning them into normal Goombas…*sigh* Such a weakness can be easily negated by training; I’m proof of that! As it is, this Paragoomba is only slightly more threatening than his grounded counterpart, and should be dealt with as such.

Spiked Goomba - That is a Spiked Goomba. As the name would suggest, it has donned a spiked helmet to enhance its offense and defense alike - I actually tried one for myself, but the hat hair was abominable. This fellow seems rather smug due to his headwear, but he’s in for quite a surprise today!
HP: 2
Attack: 2
Defense: 0
Special Attack: N/A
Additional Notes: The spike on this Goomba’s helmet improves the power of its Headbonk and protects it from aerial attacks, such as your Jump. Of course, only a total imbecile would willingly throw themselves on such a helmet…which you obviously aren’t, but…just in case…remember to use your Hammer or other ground-based attacks to avoid taking damage and further inflating this fellow’s ego!

Hyper Goomba - Oh boy, that’s a Hyper Goomba! This subspecies has a strange mutant gene that makes it far stronger than a normal Goomba…at the cost of its mind. It’s completely obsessed with fighting, which drives it to attack everything that crosses its path - be on your guard, Mario!
HP: 8
Attack: 2
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Charge
Additional Notes: The Hyper Goomba’s strength lies in its Charge ability, which quadruples the power of its next Headbonk - however, it requires some time to gather its strength. The distinctive posture and unnatural light generated by the technique should be ample warning; if you can’t defeat the Hyper Goomba before it attacks, try and increase your defenses instead. Better yet, try to make yourself untargetable, forcing the Hyper Goomba to waste its charge.

Hyper Paragoomba - That's a Hyper Paragoomba, a flying mushroom mutant that attacks everything in sight. Wow, he looks deranged…which has unfortunate implications for the time my colleagues compared me to one. Apparently, going to work without my morning coffee does terrible things to my appearance.
HP: 8
Attack: 2
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Charge
Additional Notes: Just like the Hyper Goomba, the Hyper Paragoomba can charge its attack power, allowing its next attack to deal 8 points of damage. Bring it down as quickly as possible, with or without clipping its wings with a jump! If all else fails, turning invisible is definitely your best option for evading a charged-up assault.

Hyper Spiked Goomba - That's a Hyper Spiked Goomba. Combining this Goomba’s power with a spiked helmet poses more trouble than getting your hand stuck in a printer! ...I knew some very inattentive co-workers, Mario.
HP: 8
Attack: 3
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Charge
Additional Notes: This version of the Hyper Goomba is a far greater threat than the others; when charged up, its Spikebonk can deal 12 points of damage in a single blow! Taking him down first would be the best strategy - as long as you don’t attack from above, you can strike him however you wish.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ZTAR LOG
Doomba - That's a Doomba; a Goomba possessed by a Ztar. Man…I’ve spent my career studying the powers of Ztars, but seeing them in action still sends a chill down my wings. Being possessed by the servants of Darkness…what a terrible fate…
HP: 4
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Poison Pollen
Additional Notes: Doombas can take more punishment than a regular Goomba, but their Headbonk is still as weak as ever. However, they’ve gained a nasty new ability through their possession; those holes on their scalps can release a foul pollen that can poison you. It’s a good thing that regular Goombas don't do that; if they could, I wouldn't show my face in public.

Paradoomba - That's a Paradoomba; a regular Paragoomba possessed by a Ztar. Somehow, possession turned its wings from feathery to leathery, which is both fascinating and freaky as all-get-out. How painful must that transformation be for the host?
HP: 4
Attack: 1
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Poison Pollen
Additional Notes: Like the regular Doomba, the Paradoomba is a fair bit tougher than its normal counterpart; notably, it’ll keep its wings no matter how many times you jump on it. Despite the spiked soles of its shoes, its swooping attacks are as weak as a regular Paragoomba, but watch out for the poisonous pollen it can scatter from its head! It can only release the pollen when it attacks, so you can jump on it without fear - and I recommend doing so immediately, before it has the chance to poison us!

Spiked Doomba - This is a Spiked Doomba; a Spiked Goomba possessed by a Ztar. He seems to be even more smug than before, perhaps because of the extra spikes on his helmet and shoes…or is he reflecting the emotions of his possessor? Either way, let’s give him something to frown about!
HP: 4
Attack: 2
Defense: 0
Special Attack: Sharp Spin
Additional Notes: As fierce as it looks, the Spiked Doomba’s helmet is actually a mixed bag for its wearer. On one hand, it doesn’t increase the power of its Spikebonk, and it prevents it from spewing pollen at us; on the other hand, it helps the Spiked Doomba use a dangerous spinning attack that does severe damage to both of us. Honestly - and I can’t believe I’m saying this - I think I’d actually prefer the pollen to this new attack; try to defeat this fiend as swiftly as possible!

Necro Doomba - This freaky creature is a Necro Doomba; a Hyper Goomba possessed by a Necrid. According to our research, Necrids are an advanced stage of Ztar development that can channel a lot more Darkness…which doesn’t bode well for us if it’s added to a Hyper Goomba’s natural power…
HP: 12
Attack: 3
Defense: 1
Special Attack: Charge, Evil Pollen
Additional Notes: The Necrid’s influence has toughened this Doomba’s skin, allowing it to reduce the damage of our attacks. It can still charge itself up to send its ATK through the roof, but it can also emit nasty pollen clouds that have a chance to Immobilize us - and if it uses that after a charge, not even blocking can stop the effect! You’ll really want a way to make yourself scarce when this thing starts glowing, Mario, because I’m not sure what’s worse; taking a Hyper-Headbonk to the skull or getting stopped in your tracks!

Necro Paradoomba - This is a Necro Para-Doomba, a Hyper Paragoomba possessed by a Necrid…or a Necro Doomba with wings. Whatever way you look at it, it’s quite a fierce-looking mushroom monster - “a real herald of the Goom-pocalypse,” as my dad would put it.
HP: 12
Attack: 3
Defense: 1
Special Attack: Charge, Evil Pollen
Additional Notes: The Necro Paradoomba fights similarly to its grounded counterpart: it can attack directly or spew immobilizing pollen. It can also charge up to increase its damage or the chances of immobilization; neither of which is what you’d call “fun”, in my well-researched opinion. Remember that it’s not easy to ground, either - aerial attacks are the order of the day for this Darkness-fuelled monster!

Drill Doomba - This is a Drill Doomba, a Hyper Spiked Goomba possessed by a Necrid. As you can see, the spike on its helmet has been replaced by…a giant drill…which is both scientifically implausible and totally unfair! Seriously, how does that even work?!
HP: 12
Attack: 4
Defense: 1
Special Attack: Charge, Drill Dive, Burrow
Additional Notes: Be careful if this Doomba charges up; it’ll turn his next Spikebonk into a Drill Dive that does major damage and pierces our defenses! On the bright side, he can’t emit immobilizing pollen through his helmet; on the other hand, he can burrow underground to prevent us from attacking him and get a cheap shot in on his next turn! As I said before, totally unfair!......unless there’s some way to hit him even when he’s burrowed…

Goombas: NINTENDO
Doombas: ME

...Honestly, we're a bit torn about this reboot. On one hand, it's awesome to finally see Wrath of the Ztar King getting off the ground, and the updated style to your Tattle Log is pretty neat. On the other...

OUR BEAUTIFUL TATTLE LOG DOC IS NOW COMPLETELY OBSOLEEEEEETE!!!!

...Ahem. Anyways...might I suggest posting future Tattles here (docs.google.com/document/d/1bQ… )? I'll help jazz 'em up for you, free of charge - it's the least I can do after certain...things...that may or may not have happened yet!

So you're getting to work on Wrath of the Ztar king? That's really good to hear.

Like the new details on the redesigns, such as the Hyper Goombas actually looking like they had a tad too much caffeine and the Para Doombas having bat wings.

... Though this does make my artworks obsolete... Oh well, bound to happen at some point...

One last thing to note, though: On the Goomba's tattle, the tattler mentions having wings. Is there a change to the partner list, or did Goombuster sprouted wings?

The partners will be changing as well. Goombuster (His name will be changing) is no longer a regular Goomba. He will now be a Paragoomba

Ah, I see. Can't wait to see who the new partners are.

... and if there are any other major changes.
