you should be able to use gaussian blur, under filter > blur. Set it to about 10, depending on the photo.

It depends on if it has surface blur I guess..

Oh no, I wasn't referring to any of your Raw/stock photos in particular, if that's what you mean. I actually hadn't realized until after I sent you that comment, that you have that stock account as well...heh
I agree with you, however, about the plastic look. The most beautiful features are the skin imperfections e.g. freckles etc. I could understand if one had a huge mole under their eye, or something
Anyway, excellent tutorial! While, I regularly use the Curve and Level tool to help recover shadow/highlight, and heal/clone tool, I have never really thought to venture in the direction of "softing". The moments for which I did, I mostly used gaussian blur with a setting of .03 radius but it always had a slight drawback for what I wanted...the surface blur tutorial was very beneficial! So too, was that "final adjustment" bit.
Also, I didn't mean to sound like I was accusing you of making yourself like plastic. Perhaps, it was just me expressing my dismay for some of these professional magazines that go for that airbrush look on their models
btw I really think you should use your tutorial picture on your main account it's my absolute favorite!
It's heaven!

That was a very helpful tutorial. Very professional. I use half of those tools commonly, especially the heal and clone tools for curing over undesired anomalies e.g. a rain drop, hot pixels etc. The tone curve tool is also really essential, I'm glad you added that in there. I use that and the "levels" tool. but the other half I was not aware of...very informative.
On a separate note, however, you are even more beautiful blemishes and all. But the smoothing work you do is impressive...Don't ask me why but every natural facial detail that people try to cover up are (to me) the most beautiful parts. You have a few earlier pictures up, where you sport your natural elements and they are absolutely breath taking. You should do more raw photos...perhaps, a beach one with wild blown hair too.

Thanks very much for the imput, which 'raw' photos are you referring to? Recently I've been trying to let more of the natural skin texture show through, theres nothing more annoying than a plastic face

Hmm, I used to have paintshop a few years ago but I don't anymore so I don't know what the equivalent tools are.
