Description
Goblins(Parapithecus callidus), are a species of sapient ape-like primate found in Arcadia.

While short in stature, averaging about one meter in height, the genus managed to diversify into a wide array of distinct species and spread across the continent. They are covered in fur all over their bodies, except for their hands, feet, buttocks and faces. The greenish tint on their fur is due to a symbiotic relationship with a species of algae growing on their fur, which could also serve as an emergency ration. Their ears are long and pointed, and aid in their hearing. They have distinct noses, with those on males being larger and more pronounced. Despite their short stature, they are surprisingly strong, capable of injuring a full grown human with their arms and their canines.

Aside from the Common Goblin, which is found in most of Arcadia's forests, there are other well documented species. One particular species is the hobgoblin(Parapithecus familaris), also called "brownies" due to their brown fur, devoid of any algae. These goblins were kept by humans and sometimes elves, how they get treated depends on their master. Another species of goblin, is the redcap(Parapithecus ferox), a less intelligent and highly aggressive species. This species is much larger and spends most of its time on all fours. They are so called, because of the red fur, on their heads.

Many goblins were conscripted into the ranks of the multi-species alliance, known as the Arcadian Conglomerate, by the elves, who founded it. Due to their short stature, but otherwise surprising strength, they were mainly enlisted in logistical roles, while the stronger species served as soldiers. However, if the need arises, they will sometimes join the soldiers of the Conglomerate. After all, a goblin armed with a sharp or blunt object is still a force to be reckoned with. They, along with the rest of the Conglomerate's species, participated in the "Never Ending War," a war they all fought in order to survive the against the Seven Human Nations.

Despite their conscription into the Conglomerate, the elves treated the goblins fairly and offered them protection within their ranks. They were given more food and other resources. than what they could acquire on their own. Their relations with the rest of the Conglomerate, varied depending on the species. Some creatures, like Orcs are genrerally friendly towards them. Others, such as the Kobolds, have a bitter rivalry with them, due to competition for space and resources.

Their relations with humans also varied. Some view them, as mere pests, to be exterminated. Others keep them as household servants. Some were treated as property, others were seen as part of the family, depending on the master.
