Fantastic tutorial. I'll use this later But do you know what is like the apply image in Gimp? Because i don't find it... Most of tutorials are made with photoshop so i really need that information.

Which brush did you use when you smudge, and what settings?

theycallmefave In reply to Zerwer [2009-11-08 16:46:48 +0000 UTC]
It's a Photoshop 7 default brush. Just basically as long as it's a bit grungy and small (the size of the one I used was about 44 pixels).

how do you add scan lines to just a specific area?

I'm pretty sure that the scanlines brush I used was just that small.
But to get the same effect, you could just make a new layer, brush the scanlines on, and then erase most of it with a hard brush or the rectangular marquee.

Hi. I get a notification every time someone posts on my Deviations. :^)
And at points in the tutorial when I say, "new layer," I'm saying "new layer > image > apply image"

Since this is a smudge tut, what brush sizes and settings do you use (which is the most advanced part, the actual smudging)....
thanks

What do you mean with "new layer"?
New layer -> apply image -> filtern and stuff (?)
