Edit: I figured out I should update the file, since the original was using the v6 interface. As I'm not updating the file again for v8 (when it comes out) I also added a little note at the beginning :)- Related links:

You mean suggesting exactly the same deviation? No, once is enough

gossj10 In reply to Thiefoworld [2014-07-01 15:14:35 +0000 UTC]
so we can suggest a work only once?
π: 0 β©: 1
Thiefoworld In reply to gossj10 [2014-07-01 16:52:42 +0000 UTC]
Yes, there's really no need to suggest the same work to the same volunteer more than once.

I really hate it when people complain how "Good" artist never get daily deviantations, but they never recomend any. Even worse when someone tries to recomend themselves, or tell their watches to do it for them. I would kill for a daily deviantation, but I want to get one by my skill, not by my popularity.

Hi, is there a tutorial on how to make my art qualify for a Daily Devitation?
π: 0 β©: 1
TouchMyLexicon66 In reply to PeppermintSoda [2014-02-21 00:26:45 +0000 UTC]
No, all art qualifies! As long as you put effort into it and it doesn't break any rules, it qualifies.

Uhm, I have some questions if you don't mind:
1. The person who suggests, how many may the suggest? / is there a limit to how many suggestions the person who suggests can make? (if no, is it possible to make multiple suggestions in 1 note?)
2. self suggesting; I sometimes see in other dd-tutorials that they say it's better to suggest others' work, but other tutorials say it's all ok to self-suggest. or does it depend on the volunteer?
3. Do all volunteers read all the note suggestions you get, or do they sometimes 'skip a few'? and how do you know if/when your DD-suggestion was declined? (approved is a bit obvious)
4. When I sometimes see a DD, I see in the DD-suggestion 'bar' the name of the person who suggested and the volunteer who approved. What does it mean if there is no person who suggested projected, only the volunteer who approved? Do volunteers also just 'make a drawing a DD if they really like it' and thinks it deserves a dd, or does it mean self-suggested?
5. how long does it usually take Β for a volunteer to read your note and approve/decline? (average time) -I understand you go through many many notes, but I just have to ask.
I'd really appreciate it if you could answer some of my questions, thank you in advance!

1. There's no limit of how many suggestions you can make, just a few recomendations: a) Remember quality is always better than quantity, suggest as many as you want, just make sure all of them are great and worth suggesting and b) Yes, you can send multiple suggestions in one note, but if they're all from different deviants I would recommend sending them in separate notes, this is less confusing for us who check them
2. Self-suggestions are allowed and all CVs accept them, this is a guideline universal for all the team. Though is also true some CVs might appreciate them more than others, but the fact all of us accept them is true.
3. I personally check every single one of them, I never, NEVER leave any of them un-checked, I might not reply to all of them, but I do check them all. I can only talk for myself here, but I'm also pretty sure is the same for all CVs. I also personally almost never let the suggester know if their suggestion will be featured or not, just a personal preference, but every CV is different with this point.
4. It can mean either of those, if the DD was self-suggested, we usually don't include the suggester, to respect the artist. And yes, sometimes we choose DDs on our own, they weren't suggested, so obviously we don't include a suggester either.
5. It really depends on the CV and the gallery they look after and there isn't an average because it varies greatly. In my case, I try to check them within a week after I receive them, but sometimes it can take a little longer than that. (though it has never taken me more than 10 days) The whole process, since the day you send your suggestion to the day it gets featured, can take up to a month/a month and a half.

Thank you very, very much for answering my questions!!! I really appreciate it, and I now understand ^^

(uhm, and btw, I requested a DD a short while ago and you responded, does that mean it will not get a DD if it has not gotten one after/a bit before the response, or can it still get DD??? -sorry just curious,...)
thank you!

Thiefoworld In reply to Rammthali [2013-10-03 02:29:37 +0000 UTC]
I usually reply with a simple "Thanks for your suggestion" to let people know their suggestion was received and it's being considered. After that and due the volume of notes I receive, it can take up to a month or more for the suggestion to get featured, if selected.
