This really saved my day, I always have trouble with beaks (one of my important secondary character is a goose) - she won't appear much in my comic, but enough to make her face important

Wow, to be honest, it really helped on my perspective! It used to be really hard for me to draw muzzles, snouts (whatever long faces are called XD) in frontal view, but now it's pretty easy! The first two are pretty helpful to me!
Thanks for this!

Is this what Hal looks like before you draw him?

ThirdPotato In reply to Xommon [2009-07-29 03:09:03 +0000 UTC]
Sort of; I use the concept but I draw his understructure more loosely than this

hm.. definately need this. Muzzles are one of my weak points. hard to figure out how they look from certain angles... 'specially facing foreward

Cool, it's a nice little "system" to help people remember, I always like seeing how other people go about constructing their drawings.

twilight-wolf [2009-07-22 11:27:56 +0000 UTC]
huh look at that. a practical approach, straight out of the animator's survival kit XD I approve lol. most people just do the "draw shapes" rather than "draw 3D shapes" haha. This is very good indeed..... you sure you don't do animation?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
ThirdPotato In reply to twilight-wolf [2009-07-22 15:57:04 +0000 UTC]
Haha thanks, ja, I generally don't do understructure when I draw them, because the concept is there in my head, but when doing a tutorial I guess it's always best to back to the basics, y'know? LoL
Haha but ja thanks, I actually came to SCAD wanting to minor in animation (more 2D though) but when I learned more how the industry worked I stayed with sequential, though I can't wait to do some little animations in Flash n.n
<.< Heeeyyyy you know how to animate in flash, do ya? If so maybe I could bum some pointers off of ya when we get back to scad?
