Description Always on the look out for that quintessential forest...Something about those symmetries just sing to me. I suppose it's the same for everybody...We have evolved to appreciate pattern and rhythm and symmetry. Those concepts and of course others are central to at least the aesthetic principles that guide my photography, if not also whatever intangible "principles" that I derive whatever creativity I have out of...So...I like trees!

For some reason I just feel the urge to have this on wallpaper and just fill an entire wall with it. It is both mesmerizing and I would almost say 'soothing.' Must be that hunger for patterns inside my brain... Or maybe I'm just being an oddball (yeah, I'm pretty certain of that) but whatever reason; I love it!

One thing I miss about that place is the wilderness. It is true wilderness!

No doubt you're missing that a lot. I can only imagine that when you've experienced the real deal. The true and absolute 'edge of the earth' feeling, it is something that crawls under your skin, itches like hell when it wants to and never plans to leave.

I wish we had that over here... even the landscapes here that are still natural and pure are never far from civilization. Several years ago, I made a trip through the Lake District (UK) and Scotland it really gave me that humbling feeling that you can experience when you know that you are but a dot in the landscape and the nearest other dot is who knows where. That you can actually get lost if you lose your way and can't cheat your way out by walking 15 miles into a general direction, bound to encounter something. That you have to keep things in mind when you go exploring because if you don't you might end up as one of those annual statistics you'll rather not think of.
But we do have some adorable hills here with pretty medieval castles on top of them...

Sometimes I see old comments and find myself sorta shocked it slipped my mind to write back. :/ Sorry for this old bump but I just wanted to say, I think we crave novelty. Stuff we haven't seen or experienced. To me adorable hills (and other kinds of hills) and especially castles are things I don't get to see, ever really. It would be a delight to spend some time in a place like that
