Description
Well, since there's been recent news about a few other superheroes coming out recently, I figured I'd take the opportunity to finally flesh out and design the actual members of this team idea I've had for a while, which has only had its place in a few story concepts so far because I hadn't actually developed its membership or core personality before.

The Divers of the Deep are a multiversal super-team that started in Inglenook, as a group that attempted to join the Tidal Guard in the 50s, but were rejected for various reasons. (The Tidal Guard is a bit of an exclusionary mindset, and they didn't like the theatrics the Divers put into their work and audition performances, or something like that.)

They consist of:
Nelson Bell, aka Dr Drylander — A trained diver, which he only went into after breaking up with Clarissa, and only as a means of conquering his fear of the water. He'd still rather be on dry land than the ocean, but it's a constant work in progress. He and the rest of the team take contract adventure work as a means of sustaining themselves, but tend to do other oceanographic work in Inglenook and the Other Realms as well.

Vanessa Wilson, aka Water-Willow — Nelson's current partner, a skilled swimmer and trained diver who formed the idea for the team shortly after they met Fishbowl.

Finn Rylander, aka Fishbowl — A living statue cursed by an ancient figurine that's now living inside him, Finn was a hopeful duelist and brawler before his curse led him to attempt jumping off the Piermont Plank one day. Nelson and Vanessa found him, rescued him from the tides, and restored his good faith in life, and now he adventures with them out of the need for something better to do.

Clarissa Glass, aka Miss Glassjaw — The result of a science experiment gone wrong, or perhaps a magical one. Miss Glassjaw was Nelson's ex in college who was seduced by a supervillain, and later came back into his life for help after she finally escaped him. By this time, Nelson and Vanessa had already met Finn and welcomed Clarissa into their group, although tensions mounted between Clarissa and Vanessa for obvious reasons.

Nelson, Vanessa, Finn, and Clarissa started the Divers as a means of boosting their camaraderie and giving themselves a goal in life, especially after a group audition for the Tidal Guard — a nationwide coastal guard that patrols the oceans and beaches — went wrong and got them rejected. Feeling humiliated, they started the Divers of the Deep instead, and began exploring Inglenook's oceanic depths on their own, as well as taking contracts to help others explore the depths, have underwater adventures, and even travel to the Other Realms when at all possible.

Some of their common villains have included Bay Area-based villains the Sea Bishop, Dr Caligo, and King Molarva, but they've also faced King Thalassis, ruler of the Merrow Kingdom, a variety of pirates and undersea monsters, and cosmic threats from other worlds just as well.
