Okay I really love this design so I am going to use it for my Convergent Paths.

Gyran Heavy Industries produces the AV-95 Rook as an infantry based trans-atmospheric Assault Dropship aka the Gyran Gunship. The craft can lift three assault suits or one 48 ton main battle tank. The only issue is that it must life the tank from one point on a planet to another point on a planet, since the rook was meant for infantry. The weapons load is up to 16 missiles either for Anti-tank to anti-air and a 40mm Gauss gun. Its active defense measure is a high out put shield which allows it to enter and exit a planet's atmosphere. For security purposes the shield is only used for traversing the atmosphere. In classic Gyran deception the shield is used to aiding in flight maneuvers and provides the crew and passengers a flight free of harsh G-forces.
