Description

The M20 Armored Personnel Carrier is a variant of the M20 platform for the Free States of America Army. Like the other units in the M20 family the Wolverine features an aluminum hull with a plastic steel composite armor. The M20 also features a small automatic pontoon device to grant the vehicle very limited river and lake water crossings. While based on the CV90 what truly makes the Ryan Aerospace Enterprises M20 unique is how it uses waste plastic from fast food cups and water bottle to create a unique armor when hit will melt rapidly around the incoming projectile, once melted the liquid plastic will cause a ripple to throw the round off course before finally cool down. This allows the M20 series of vehicles at the base level to disrupt incoming projectiles up to 20mm SABOT ammunition without added on armor at the front and sides. The top armor of the APC model is slightly thicker than the IFV and light tank being 60mm thick instead of 50mm thick at the top. Front and side armor is the same at 75mm.

The APC is a dedicated transport as such it has minimal armaments like a .50 M2 Browning heavy machine gun, and smoke launchers. For more protection without added weight it has built in Iron fist APS with 12 hard kill rounds at the ready in turreted position able to tackle incoming top attack munitions like Drones or Javelin missiles. The Wolverine is a low profiled vehicle compared the NewMerican rival the AMPV and instead of seating six it has space for ten men plus the two crew. The engine is the Advanced Modular Engine in its six cylinder 12 piston, 20 liter, horizontally opposed two-stroke diesel electric engine that produces 800hp for the Wolverine. When fitted with the add on armor panels that can bump the vehicles wait up a maximum of 40 tons will still be able to propel the vehicle up to 60mph over open terrain. All M20A1 upgrades use an identical engine however it is power by Hydrogen fuel with a built in aluminum electrolysis filter that processes salt water into Hydrogen fuel. The A1 engine would be introduced in an M20 variants by the end of 2034.

Dotted around the exterior of the APC are sensors, cameras and optics that serve as the eyes and ears of the Wolverine. Cameras are particularly important on this vehicle, as the crew no longer have their own eyes in the vantage point from a turret. Space for three Switchblade suicide drones are available to use as a means to increase the range and lethality of the Wolverine in the event its dismounts have yet to deploy their own Anti Tank weapons or the vehicle is alone facing down a heavier opponent. The drone is a Switchblade Mk5 which can be launched like a football if need be. The active protection system of the APC is twin Marksman hard-kill launchers a total of 12 shots doubling the rate of intercepting ATGMs or drones. In contrast to say Trophy or other systems this unit is very safe for sounding infantry as it fires using a Doppler pulse radar to track incoming rounds and fires at the target over 350m away from the vehicle.
