My original character is not a self-insert.My original character is not based on me.
My original character is not based on who I want to be.
My original character is a completely different individual.
When I refer to my original character, I say "he/she", not "I/me".
I am NOT my OC.

Agreed. Actually my accounts on here where named after them and not the other way around (I created them to show my OCs to the group I originally created them for). XD Now everyone seems to call me Yuko though that is far from my real name.
I have many and each one is different with their own styles, personality, etc...they might have a bit in me in them as I did create them and chances are that some are bound to have some traits that are similar as that can't be helped if you want a variety of characters, but doesn't mean that they are me. LOL half of them are males, one is transgender and many of them are technically supposed to be dead (I'm a living female so....). We all work hard on our OCs and constantly change and fix them up to make them respectable, yet people always make assumptions or blow them off before even learning about about them.
I never really ran into that problem personally. I actually people argue about something different.

The only thing me and Oli have in common-brown hair and eyes-either than that we r total opposites. I am loud, annoying, stupid (lol), perverted, inappropriate.... Oli is quiet, nice, smart, not any where near perverted or inappropriate haha

Yeah. For me and Charlie, we're both kind of "socially awkward" and weird, but in completely different ways. I'm loud, sometimes pretty angry, sometimes pretty opinionated, pretty damn smart, and, like Stan, a cynical asshole. Charlie is sweet and kind, but just doesn't totally "get it" in terms of fitting in with her peers. She's not an idiot, but she's not super smart, and she likes to look for the good in people. (In some ways, she's the opposite of me.

I know, right? People talking to me will refer to my OC as "you", and they'll assume that if you have an OC with a crush on a character that YOU have a crush on the character, and stuff like that.
And you have my permission to do whatever you want with this. It took me all of two minutes to make.

YES. God yes. They assume I either look like them, or like the character, or my personality is like theirs...dude, I'm TRYING. Maybe I'm not the best writer but I'm definitely not interested in inserting myself as anyone. I try to give my OCs their own personalities, crushes and looks, stop comparing me to them >,<
And thank you, I'd never do anything without permission. I think I have a reasonable solution, maybe I'll copy your stamp and put it right next to my new ID, which is of an OC that a dear fried of mine drew. Is that alright? Either way, I want your stamp on my page somehow, so I'll figure it out!
