so much future development potential for the SeaMaster....foolish mistake to "ax" the project.....with some of the more advanced powerplants that were to come out soon,it could have gone supersonic....and let,s not forget the Convair Tradewind either. it was hampered only by those shitty T-40 coupled turboprops and contra-rotating propellers that were prone to failure. if they,d hung in there for the Allison T-56,it would have been a good one. yes,i still believe the flying boat has a place/niche in this man,s navy!

Not a flying boat you see every day. It's a pity that the design wasn't considered useful in civilian or SAR roles, it would have been an interesting competitor to Beriev's birds.
