DΒ³SCR!PTION
The meaning of the pic is to show the kind of path we're all going. On the left side we have the oldish, familiar looking environments. While on the right we have the monstrous huge futuristic city that seems to literally eat the people, their lives and lets them appear soooo small that they almost don't count anymore. The old bridge is a kinda symbole to show that both parts are still connected and that only you alone decide to take that walk into the future or not.
On the other hand... it's just a cool sci-fi based artwork.
TECHN!CAL DETA!LS
First of all i want to tell those super critique folks that this pic is far from perfect, i know that. There's, once again, lots of experimental stuff in it. It's very different to the stuff i ever did before. Basically it's a very big huge mo0onster photo manipulation. You ask yourself why it's call matte '
digital matte painting, wacom, photoshop, 40hrs, 3500px wide, 300dpi, 110mb psd

Sehr geil!
Su-per Ar-beit! (Bindestriche zwecks Betonung!)

I dunno, that city looks kinda cool to live in.
Also, we already have buildings that look sorta like that today. It's getting harder to draw futuristic-looking buildings, methinks.

The shadow of the car is a bit weird (looks like it's floating, a bit), and the foliage looks like it's been feathered. Two very small nitpicks in an huge piece though.. which means that everything else is quite good/believable. Nice work!

I see the whole picture like you say it, "The old bridge is a kinda symbole to show that both parts are still connected and that only you alone decide to take that walk into the future or not." - good.
I also like to watch these kind of pictures, cause i see life in it. it aint just a photo or matte painting, it haves lots of little things to admire. in the wholeness i really like it and my opinion is that is almost perfect!
keep up the good work!

I've been working on a report about architecture, and this sort of stuff came up. I think even without the personal relevence, this could be one of the cooler things I've ever seen.

Wow...really cool picture, and I love your artistic symbolism. I like your "technical details" too. It's always fun to know how artists make their wonderful pieces, so that others may employ the same techniques to achieve similar effects with their own original works

Very nice, i love it. I find futuristic buildings hard to draw.. i don't know why.
I like the small touches, like the mountain isn't hugely noticeable but is very nice, and the tree in the foreground also adds to the image.
