Description
The Communist International (abbreviated Comintern, also called Third International) was founded in 1920 by Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht as an international organization to unite the communist parties around the globe for the ultimate goal of achieving communist world revolution. Members not only include the actual ruling parties of the communist Eastern Bloc, but also communist parties and movements around the world with the aim of supporting them financialy and ideologicaly. The seat of the Comintern is the Palace of Councils in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. It's governing body is the Executive Committee of the Communist International, feautering a permanent represantative from each member party. It also hosts an annual World Congress in the Palace of Councils.
