Hmmm...there shouldn't be any male or female pronouns in there, because the book is androgynous, meant to either gender. Tho, it is a book that is supposed to be released around the time of the Doctor's 3rd regeneration. So it's a Mark I book, and additional supplemental books will be released in later settings, a Mark II refit, and Mark III.

So you're telling me that since WAAAAY back then it has been established that one day the doctor would be a woman and people are STILL complaining? Do these haters even watch the series?

Well, there were always female and male Time lords.. the fact one could turn into the other's gender is in fact really new. Moffat is the culprit behind that. The fact that Sydney Neuman made a once off comment stating the doctor could regenerate into a female is immaterial, and I hate when people try to use that as proof of concept.. It is not. one off comment is not the same as implementing the process within the Show's continuity. The Fact there are a lot of Whitaker haters out there is not due to the choice of a female actress, per se' but could also be linked to the crappy scripts, and boring writing, PC plots for Social Justice sakes, and not really having any meaning..
There is a lot more to the reasons why Doctor Who Season 11, and possibly 12 will not be well received by half of the fandom. Those reasons are legitimate. There is also the notion that if you preferred a Male Doctor, then you are sexist, when that is not the issue or the case. preferences should be protected forms of choice, while bigotry, I.E. A woman could not play the Doctor is different and should be frowned upon, which is different from (I don't want a woman to play the doctor, as my preference is for a male actor) that is acceptable no matter what Social Justice Warrior's say..

Well I agree completely I was upset when for no reason the human torch in fantastic 4 became a black guy (but his sister didn't) because that was blatantly a rights movement decision. This decision was disguised by that throwaway comment and two characters switching gender in prior episodes but I suppose it is also just a rights movement decision too. I still haven't had the chance to view the episodes for myself but I'm trying to remain optimistic. Maybe if they'd had waited another season or two and had some more deliberate hints that a female doctor was coming this would be less blatantly a political season and thus easier to swallow. But really allowing real world politics to affect events in a fictional world will never end well ever.

From what I've seen from Season 11. You aren't going to like it. In the past the agenda was subtle and easier to stomach, done in allegorical ways. Now, it is just Blatant and in your face Leftism, feminism, misandry and anti-male and anti-father. It plays out like that over and over, constantly hitting those notes.. not to mention, it always has to emasculate the men in favor of the female.

even as a femenist myself who believes men no longer serve any unique purpose, I think that sounds boring

I myself am a Humanist. I believe Females and Males have inherent complimentary roles, and should not be at odds with one another, rather compliment, and bring strengths in different areas that creates a harmonious and beneficial duo, or team. One is not subjected to the other, they are both equal, and yet acknowledge each's inherent weaknesses and strengths. This is something the modern version of 3rd wave feminism wants to portray, women can do anything.. and they have no faults.. we should all be so lucky!!
I think in truth my humanist approach is more sound. The Sexes shouldn't be at war with each other, or have to put each other down. They should be complimentary to each other, like each hero in the X-men are, or Avengers. Each has a specific strength the other does not have. a unique quality, that when paired with a compatible fellow teammate, can create a powerful couple. Same too it should be in love, the relationships with friends who are male and female, and so on..
Their view is limited and stunted by it's own need to virtue signal, but not out of superiority, rather insecurity.. Why else portray the men as weak and mistake ridden and only the women capable and infallible. That's not realistic and as you say..
Boring.
