Oh my... that was as beautiful as it was sad. What a gift to be able to see your dearest friend again when your time has come, even when you're aging so very differently; how wonderful to not be alone in your final moments. And what a gift that Rarity gave, too: being trapped in stone for an eternity for the sake of her beloved Spikey. Only the Element of Generosity herself could give so much, so selflessly.

Sorry to come across as abrupt. I hadn't noticed the two shooting stars. I'd thought the ending was a little more subtle than that (though it was subtle to begin with, for someone unfamiliar with what the shooting stars mean, which are most fans outside the fandom). Your question was legitimate, your guess was correct, but I misinterpreted it as being more callous than you intended it to sound.

rarity was frozen in time so they could die together, luna was there guide to the next world. and like with AJ's parents in apple family reunion the death become represented by the stars, i hope you get it now a little more

Indirectly? Sure looks like it... quick teleport to the ionosphere (300-1000km altitude) and let them burn up on re-entry.
Or it could be that Spike called his own time and Rarity's down to the last minutes so all the dying was already done by the time Luna gave them their final parting gift.
