Description EDIT: NOW IN COLOR~!

Among the very extensive collection of Dragonkin in the world, many oddities exist. Changes in draconic anatomy that stemmed from largely unnatural changes, that had gradually become naturalized over time, as they quickly evolved into new, different types of Dragonkin. Each becoming increasingly distant from its original source.

----------------------------------

Phylum: Chordata
Subphylum: Vertebrata
Superclass: Tetrapoda (They did originally start off four-limbed. Additional or lesser limbs are usually owed to unnatural circumstances)
Clade: Draconia
Superorder: Tetradraconia (Dragonkin that stayed four-limbed)
Order: Wyverna (Wyvern-like animals, that have a pair of winged limbs)
Genus: Uncinunguidactylus
Species: U. pauxillus

-------------------------------------

That's right...the Mantiverns are collectively the little kid cousin of wyverns. It had gotten VERY small to compensate for living in a habitat that is heavily forested. Far too forested for a wyvern to fly around with much freedom. Instead, their wings have atrophied to the point of being virtually nonexistent, being replaced with a pair of mantis-like claws that ensnare passing prey.

Most are at least large enough to make a living hunting small birds. But the Pygmy Mantivern is even smaller, just being big enough to hunt large insects.

--------------------------------------

They may look vicious. But they're actually very shy towards people, and are completely harmless towards even faeries. In fact, according to local legends by the Menehune who live there, it is known as pahi hilahila . The bashful knife blade. Said to have once been a profoundly terrifying beast that was shrunk down after challenging one of their local gods to a duel, and failing miserably.

In fact, they the pahi hilahila has such enormous claws to help hide its face in embarrassment whenever it's seen.

If you see one in the wilds of the Tropical Kingdom, please, leave them be.
