Description And now presenting...the Aurorus to end all Auroruses. The truest titaness of them all!

Telephassa...the Sleeping Giant. To date, the biggest fossil Pokemon EVER revived. Several stories tall, several tons heavy, Give or take Level 100, whose footsteps cause tremors, and whose food intake could eat a Snorlax out of house and home! She is truly THE dinosaur, a Pokemon of near-legendary power. And also...the long-lost mother of Europa.

-------------

Telephassa the Aurorus
Female
Modest, Often lost in thought

-------------------

History: Before there was Europa, there was Telephassa. She had started off as a small Amaura desperately trying to keep in league with her siblings and other kin. Especially her mother, who was the matriarch of the herd, and had pushed Telephassa to her limits to try and be a good leader like her when she grew up. Although frankly...Telephassa had always had problems with her self-esteem. She had always seen her mother or siblings as being better than her, and being able to do and learn so many things in a way Telephassa found difficult to understand. Even her mother had little hope for her, believing that she would just turn out to be the back of the herd at best, or a complete liability at worst. And then...she evolved.

It had happened so suddenly, but her efforts to be a good daughter to her demanding mother? They had changed her completely. Even if her other siblings evolved first, Telephassa found herself having greater power than all of them combined. In a competition for the matriarch title, Telephassa had won without breaking a sweat. She used her strength to outdo even her mother. She was able to lead the herd into warmer climates, with her cold aura alone being enough to keep them cold enough to survive. She could fight off an entire pack of Tyrantrums before they could so much as take a bite out of any of them. She was considered the most beautiful and strongest Aurorus of her entire herd, with many suitors wanting to mate with her.

However...her mother had left her mark. She had power and beauty, but being strong or beautiful alone was meaningless with nothing precious in her life. She had such a difficult time believing in herself. She believed that even now, with everything she gave and got...she just wasn't worth it.

Until...Europa was born.

As with most Aurorus, she had only mated briefly with a strong male, before he departed, leaving her to raise her child. However, this was of no bother to her. She had found this baby Amaura of hers to be the one thing in her life that mattered most to her. She sang lullabies to her. She let her play with other Amaura. She gave her gifts, like beautiful stones and crystals she found. She fed her the best foods she could find. And she protected her baby with her life. Ever since Europa was born, it seemed as if all the troubles in her life had vanished, as she discovered not only her capacity for faith, but love and true compassion. Something that she knows is special to her.

Things had gone so right for her, that no predator could ever kill her or her child. The only thing that ever managed to take them down for good was the weather.

A cold snap had killed off all of the local vegetation. She and Europa had intended to go to the other side of the tundra, to the snowy forest where there was SURE to be food waiting for them. Although...Telephassa's own size had taken its toll. She had nothing to eat, so after a few days, she had finally died of starvation. Leaving her child to go along, after one last lullaby.

---------------------------

Millions of years later...

Somewhere in Kalos, a fossil was found. An immense Aurorus skeleton found south of Vaniville Town. Europa had confirmed, this was indeed Telephassa's resting place, where her frozen skeleton remained to this very day. And thus, Professor Tipsy had gained the support of the Devon Corps to finally announce.

We found Telephassa. And it's time to wake the sleeping giant.

And after that, well...the rest is history.

I wonder.... what would happen if Telephassa only continued to grow, until she reached a size rivaling real-life giant sauropods? How would her physiology change?

I guess I'm not the only one who thought of an Aurorus being that huge.

Heh, glad I'm not the only one either!

Still, I can pretty much see this Aurorus being of near-legendary status, being so huge, abnormally powerful, AND roaming around Kalos!

Yep. I thought the size would closely resembles to real-life titanosaurs like a Paralititan.

Though her backstory is kinda sad, it makes sense that she faces more danger than others when facing starvation.

The poor little Pokémon... She majestic doe.

Oh! This just seems "kinda" sad, because this is part of the back story of Europa, with her last moments having been told in this story. fav.me/da2069g . In comparison, that's REALLY sad.

But you gotta admit...even for a non-legendary, she is one majestic Pokemon!

Wow...reading that broke my heart, "kinda".

Poor little Europa, listen, "life's not fair all the time and you have to live through it to survive."

The thing to note is that by the time she evolved, Europa has learned well by now that life in general is kind of a crapshoot. Sometimes it's unfair in others' favor, sometimes it's unfair to someone else's detriment. But telling that story has allowed her to finally put her deep-rooted sadness to rest and allow her to move on, with new friends and family to support her.

At least until Tipsy found Telephassa's fossil and revived it!

Oh. She matured, great! That story is sad indeed, but with new hope in being 'lucky' of starting a new life has sprouted! *sob* So touching..

Anyway, i worry for you: Unless you sent Telephassa somewhere else to feed her, congrats; NOW you got many carnivorous hungry pokemon to feed tons tooo along with a humongous pokemon like this! Devon Corp better send alot of food.

Oh for that? Actually, at the Devon Corps, we do a lot of planning ahead!

Telephassa is indeed in Kalos, but ever since I ID'd her via Pokeball, I've organized a feeding route, where she can travel around Kalos nomadically as she had in the past, and feed off of the number of enlisted areas where there is PLENTY of vegetation for her.  She subsists for some time, but not to the point of the forest growing bare, and then moving on to the next fertile area.

This way, the forest isn't stripped bare, and is able to regrow good as new, with new fertilizer. The local wildlife isn't affected as badly as one may think, since she mainly feasts on the very high canopies, where less wild Pokemon are affected. And she is well able to travel on her own, being too big to prey on, unbothered by climate conditions, and being docile enough to befriend other people she may come across. And in case of an emergency, local surveillance services can get her location and place her in a Heavy Ball, where the authorities can help her as they need to.

Although I do admit...the first day after Telephassa's revival, the Devon Corps had brought over a large reserve of pre-grown greens and berries to feed her with. And she had eaten pretty much all of it, plus some of the trees growing outside. And planning all of this out DID cost a ton of money.

Wooo....oaaa~ *^*

Wonderful OC concept together with idea of Aurorus having matriarchy, like elephanrts do and HER APPERANCE...!
those bright colors you used on the sail and the yellow coloring of the "mask" which make it remind a golden crown...it's showing the greatest beauty of Telephassa's

but the best thing for me is, her name. I haven't even knew about Telephassa, but after I looked for it, the name's fitting perfectly~!

Thank ya so much dude!

I really wanted to give an indicator of just how unusually great she is among Aurorus. Giant, colorful, powerful, leader-like. Even to the point where she has the name of a mythical giant!

I'm glad you like it, because she actually was kinda tough to draw, in terms of fitting her whole body in the canvas. XD

you're welcome

I think it just looks like that probably because she's sitting down, but yeah.

Then again, she DOES eat tons of food per day to stay alive. No doubt a giant dinosaur wouldn't be that svelte to begin with. XD

And hey, considering she starved to death before, she probably doesn't mind being so well-fed.

Also, I've been looking back through your gallery, and I got a really funny idea:

Helena in a sexy Swanna costume.

Heheh, now that's a fun idea. XD

Kinda been thinking of bringing back some of the Eccentrix charries as human Pokemon trainers!

In this case, I imagine Helena might be a girl with a Swanna as her main companion!

Lolyeah. XD

Something tells me she'd be a Flying-Type specialist, with her three-stage starter being a Pidove. But her best companion being her Swanna!

Kinda fun to think about, if some of my older charries had Pokemon teams!

Maybe she could be a Gym leader in Pokemon in Space. Dual-type, Flying and Sound.
