The Golden Lord of the Royal Kingdom...King Norbert. These are a few ranks of the loyal men and women who serve him.

The very moment he had taken charge to lead and protect those who were displaced by the destruction of Yggdrassil...his own doing...he had shouldered INCREDIBLE burdens upon his shoulders.

Be it redeeming his image...by hosting a banquet for his people, while allowing them to play a bawdy folk song aimed at insulting him.

Or moving mountains and carving them out, to make a home for Kobolds who've been freed from years of slavery.

Or building most of his entire Kingdom BY HIMSELF. Simply so that he would not have to bury even a single person under its walls.

The ranks of noble warriors shown here are not the result of money bribes, forced recruitment or power mongering.

Merely...the result of many, MANY years of a Golden King's labor and dedication. His GREED that would not let him sacrifice people to make his dream come true.

These are people who've taught him that he's worked hard enough...and that he need not do it alone.

Not anymore.

Dragoons - The Dragoons are a light cavalry unit that ride upon Dracorexes. Technically not dragonkin, but rather a species of dinosaur bred and empowered via magical means. While the Dragoons themselves are armed with ornate fireball launchers.

Dragoons dismount from them to fight using firearms, while the Dracorexes themselves charge with their highly absorbent, dense skulls. Dracorexes are numerous, easy to train (via specialized means) and easy to feed...but they're exceptionally dumb animals.

Royal Wyvern Rider - These heavy cavalry units are considerably smaller in number than the Dragoons. Yet they are among the most elite of all the King's forces. Armed not only with a Royal Wyvern bred in luxury and trained in the arts of aerial combat.

But also their trademark Fire Lances. Combusting with spiraling fire, the Wyvern's speed and strength is what allows this weapon to drill right through its obstacles and enemies.

Drake Ranger - Archers, Hunters and Patrolmen all in one. They partly train various breeds of Land Drake, which act as war hounds and can find many things via scent. They partly train Dragonettes, mostly Courier Dragonettes to help them relay messages and locate things from a bird's eye view.

However they are also trained to tame and/or hunt other beasts, keeping their owner's enemy at bay as they draw their bow and lock on their target.

Dragonknight - Their weapons and armor are forged with King Norbert's very own fire. Not just anyone can become a Dragonknight, but a Dragonknight can come from virtually anywhere. Be it Swanmay, Gremlin, Minotaur, High Elf, Gnoll or Sheeple...the King will recognize a noble soul when he sees one.

Thus he will acknowledge their bravery, and reward them with a suit of burning gold, just for them. As well as a customized weapon of their choice.

He is honored to knight them in this extravagant manner. He simply hopes they'll take just as much pride in using that new gear to do good things.
